The Crvtec is Dead....
 

First off I'd like to say that 2003 has been the worst year for me..

yes, happened last night street racing, I was racing a GSXr600 on the freeway. and all of a sudden she started smoking badly. I knew what happened... as soon as I saw all that smoke. I hoped for broken ring lands (pistons).. I couldnt sleep all night, so I went into work this morning at 6am, took the head off, and sure as ---- all the sleeves are cracked inbetween the cylinders. As I said before, B20 sleeves are weak, and they will break.

So whats next?... good question, first off I'm getting hammered tonite then sunday I'm getting a rent a car and going to vegas for 10 days. When I get back I'll figure something out. But as always, everytime I break something, I always come out with something bigger and better.

:o dude i thought your pins/posts were the ----. wonder how long the built zc is gonna last for the guys that bought it i know d series sleeves are stronger than b20's but ---- how much boost were you running? I'll bet it was more than 12psi

13psi, and they cracked in the center of each sleeve dude, the pins held just fine >:(

Heavy load under 4th gear did it..

well. lets see.. by judging jeff's pattern of engines im going to take a shot at whats next.

first engine, built zc (1.6l)
second engine, LS/Vtec (1.8l)
third engine, CRVtec (2.0l)

fourth motor? next step would be closed deck h22a right!? (2.2l)

that or sleeve the crvtec, anything other then the sleeves get toasted jeff?

some of my friend have the same problem with a crvtec but they don't run turbo.

i hear that the b18 oversized to 2 liter is stronger than the b20.

jeff calls the h22 a boat anchor or soemthing so i think hes going b18c or he will sleeve the b20 both plus some good rods and pistons means a crazy ass engine i cant wait to see it

just take the b20 block and get it sleeved, pinned, and use a block guard, and if you break that, get a bicycle

Sorry to here about the motor. I saw you on everett mall way yesterday as you were going the other direction and you slammed second gear. God that car was fast. I would say go with the h22. So who was in front you or the bike?

I've blown 2 D-series, then built a D-series (lame)

I've blown 2 B-series, now its time to build a real motor.

im goin with a posted b18c1 stock internals, when those sleeves/rods go i will get it resleeved and built.

i will have to figure some way to plug the post holes but that wont be too hard.

awe, I thought I was going to get to hate on bad r/s ratios. there is a guy in town with a b20 and a rev hard kit (fmu), his might go soon too.

how much is all that going to cost you on the block? how much would it cost me?

What I am upset the most about, is that I have to drive that big ass ------- gay van around now, and with gas prices as high as they are right now, ----!

Oh well, Vegas & Cali are going to be alot of FUN! =)

I'm renting a Geo or Kia rio and gonna throw a Dry Nos kit on it for the trip 8)
