I have gotten through with just request for ID.

They just ask for ID, we all had it. Asked us what we were doing in CA, and let us go through.

Since it's just the most panzy ass socialist society anyway, just offer to pay a tax. ----, you can't even get your own mail in Canada without paying a tax, and their country doesn't have anything to do with the UNITED STATES POSTAL SERVICE (the people who deliver that ---- anyway) What a scam

I was actually deported from canada about 2 years ago. They held me at the border and I had to talk to customs from canada and the US, etc.. etc.. basically about 4 hours of my life wasted, then they finally deported me after telling me they could put me in a canadian jail for a year if they wanted to.

Either way, if you look like trouble, they will run your ---- and they will find your record and they wont let you come in. And if they ask you if you've been arrested and you lie, then they find out you have... they get very upset. And you are in a foreign country, illegally, and they do have the ability to put you in jail. So dont piss them off.

From what I've read about you, I wouldnt recommend you try to cross the border :)

It's a duty, it's there to protect the industry. Otherwise everyone would just import everything instead of buying from Canadian companies. Learned that in Economics 100 ;D

They lied to you. It's not a duty, it's a tax. It's there for the government to nickel and dime you to death so they have more control over your life.

Now THAT'S an economics lesson. ;)

Actually a tax is the same thing as a duty. They impose it to protect the inefficiencies on our Canadian Industries. But the Americans imposes such duties on our exports as well to protect their inefficiencies/competitive disadvantages.
