holy crap, a f150 is a muscle car! lol
I dunno.. muscle cars go fast.. in a straight line. vettes do it everywhere |
Re:Corvette Stingray
I said they were muscle cars (stingrays) but my friend says they are sports cars and not muscle. His idea is that muscle cars are huge beasts that can basically only go in a straight line. Since corvettes can handle too, and are smaller, they are sports cars. I haven't decided whether he is right or not though.

Teckno is actually right...although most consider it a muscle car it was actually labeled a sports car.

So I'm changing my opinion to "mid-life crisis" car :) |
Re:Corvette Stingray
the muscle car era technically ended in november 1971 when the gas crunch laws were passed and emissions started. 1972 was the first year of production of emissions regulated cars and all "muscle cars" had their teeth stripped. Horsepower dropped off as much as 60% across the board for all of the sports car types. Open chamber heads, lowered compression ratios, weaker cams, and egr all aided in this demise.
I would consider any car named from the earlier pre-72 versions to only be a sports car after this time. |
