I have a turboed civic but my question is about a 98 corolla, my sister's car. Her instrument panel lighting does not work. The fuses are all ok, the stereo lighting works and everything else is fine. The dimmer is fine too. What could it be, any help will be appreciated.

check underhood fuses?

try banging on the top of the cluster cover

double check fuses, stereo lighting and inst cluster lighting is a different circuit.

I checked the fuses in the engine bay again and they are fine. Do these corollas have fuses inside? I looked all over and can't find any. It is not the bulbs because I took them out and tested them and they are fine.

 

there should be fuses inside....as far as I know all newer cars have one. the fuses in the engine bay are the main fuses...for fuel pump, whole electrical system etc.. the ones in the car are for lights,radio,ac,ecu etc etc it should be somewhere hiding under the dash.

 

corolla .. hahah.. i got a funny story.. i drive tow truck and 2 hrs ago 6am i had to go pick one up from the cops they had 1 kid in custody and 2 on the lose they got them with the heli and dog .. for tryin to put a big *** miller bobcat welder in the trunk and stealin it.!! lol.. like 1000lbs... it was a 82 corolla turd bucket... mwuahahaha suckers.. i had to wait for the backhoe to lift it out of the trunk to tow it... off topic but o well.. carry on!!
