Re:cool or not cool?
it takes a lot of imagination and design to come up with a concept for a car. i bought my crx because i like the style. body kits are for those people who want to stand out and be different as far as i'm concerned. although these kits are unique and eye catching i don't think i'd do something that different to my car. it looks like they are trying to make it something it isn't. the changes are too dramatic. they both look european to me.

now its all part of the fad, its for 100% styling, and no one is "stnading out" and "being different" these days with body kits because everyone has them.
im not gonna lie, i used to like body kits, but then i realized how ------- retarded they are, and how everyone has them, and its all part of the "sport compact scene" now.
I look at it like this: some people need body kits like we need turbo's. They full-fill there "image" with a body kit, neon lights, painted up interiors, big *** wheels, and painted brake calipers. They have minimal mechanical skills, and do desire to learn then.(ricer)
Us, the non-ricers, we full-fill our "image" with fast cars, that preform well, most things on our cars have a purpose and we do 99% of our own work. We desire to learn more, help each other out, and figure ---- out for ourselves.
thats the difference between a ricer and a non-ricer to me.
<- i love that smiley

Like sccaeg said, body kits are just for styling now, no benefit on performance like our mods.

Re:cool or not cool?
I saw this over a year ago and at first I liked it and even wanted it (the CRX one), but the more I looked at the the less I liked it. The fenders remind me of a Focus and the line around the front bumper clipping the top of the fender just looks bad. The rear bumper on the Civic looks like a big butt. Now I wouldn't even think of putting it on my car. If I had time, money, and skills I'd do something similar (but better) from scratch, something that would look like it had been manufactured that way. I guess I'm a bit of a "ricer" myself (I don't like the term because it seems racially derogitory) because I don't see anything wrong with improving the cosmedics of a car. To me its no different than what we're doing, improving the performance. Either way, isn't it making the car something it wasn't meant to be? Now, I agree that stickers of non-existant mods, gawdy paint everywhere, etc is stupid. I don't personally like most body kits because they don't look like they belong there, but that just my own tastes. (BTW, on the outside, my car is completely stock except for 16" rims.)
