Re:Computer help???
Try this.
This is comming from memory. I haven't used win98 in about 4 years.
right click My Computer.. goto properties select the device manager tab. Go down to sound and video and click the + see if anything shows with a yellow exclamation point. If not there, look for something that says "unidentified devices" click on the item and there should be an uninstall or remove device button. Click that.. it might ask you to reboot. say no. click the refresh button and plug and play will redetect it. You'll need the windows cd or the drivers you downloaded extracted to a directory on your hard drive. Point it to one of those locations. Afterwards, reboot the computer and it should be ok. You might have to reset the resolution/color depth/refresh rate afterward. Kain gave you instructions to do that in another post..

Re:Computer help???
i guess you could do all that. or you could go to control panel, select display, then settings tab. now change that to a higher color quality, and restart.

Re:Computer help???
Haha.. 16 colors looks nice.. Download the right video drivers and you can have 16/32 million colors
Is your video card built onto your motherboard? or is it external? you can pop the case cover off and check it out. Look at the card and see who it is made by, and try to get the model # too. Then do what the other guys mentioned, do a search on the brand at yahoo/google. Go to their website download their latest drivers for Win98, re-install the drivers and you should be good to go. Otherwise look through all your disc's/cd's for the drivers (when you got the computer)

Re:Computer help???
lol.. ya you need new video card drivers.
you need to crack open your computer case and write down the name/model # of your video card if it is an add-on AGP card. If you have a built on the motherboard video then you need to install the motherboard drivers.

Re:Computer help???
Right click on desktop, go the "properties", go the the "settings" tab, now look where it says "Display:" underneathe that you will see what monitor and video card you have, example : "Plug and Play monitor on Intel(R) 82845G/GL Graphics Controller". Now that you know your video card make and model go and do a search on google.ca for the correct driver and download it. Install the driver just by clicking on it or you might have to do it manually, in this case right click on "My Computer" the go to properties. Click on the "hardware" and click on "Device manager", then click on "Display adapters, the right click on the the correct video card and click properties. When that opens click on driver then, then update driver. If you have anymore torubles let me know with a PM.
