Computer Gurus I need help.
Occasionally my games freeze up.. the pc dont reboot, they just like pause where they're at and the audio ***** up. All drivers are updated and here's my setup.
xp64bit
P4 Dual Core 3.0ghz
8gb mem
2 x 1gb Palit geforce 9600gt vid cards in SLI
750w power supply
500gb hd
Can't figure this ---- out, I thought it was my power supply which was a 500w.. so I upgraded to a 750.. and it helped.. games dont freeze up AS much.. but i'm still gettin' some freezage. 750w is alot though.. wouldn't think i'd use that much.

I don't work with monster like this often so I don't know about the powersupply tho...
Did you build it or you bought it like this?

Yeah I bought it as a barebone system.. and built it off of that. In the games i've played such as Gears of war, Crysis warehead, Fallout3, NBA2k9.. I can play them all for about 5 mins.. then they just freeze still and the audio goes funky.. and i have to reboot the pc manually by pushing reset on the case to get it to reboot.. alt-tab doesn't work and alt-control delete doesn't work.

Re: Computer Gurus I need help.
Shoulda went with the ATI Radeon 4850 or 4870
I finally moved up from the AMD 2400 with 1gb of ram to a quad core Q6600 overclocked from 2.4ghz to 3.6ghz, 8gb ram, radeon 4870, 750w psu, 3 x 1tb western digital hdd + 1 x 500gb western digital hdd, running Vista ultimate 64-bit.
Runs flawlessly and was a helluva jump.
