go to the doctor.

my dads been sick for a good while and has been visiting a few different doctors with the same result, symptom and all shows he has a flu.
Until the night before yesterday, i recivied a long distance call from his friend, they said he suddenly lost vision/hearing ability and having a hard time to move he left side of the body. They rush him to a hospital and found a tumor wth 60mm diameter in his brain :-\ , the tumor should be out by now, i am still waiting for calls from my mother and bros who rush back to hongkong last night. Doctor said there`s a chance that he could be parylized afterward :-\ :(

Re: collapsed/punchured lung????

Racin,

Chances are if this has been going on for a while (your chest pain) it may not be pneumothorax or collapse lung. If you are tall, lengthy, white and in your 20-30's, defiantely still think about the collapse lung. Since it sounds like you have been sick lately with running noise etc, chances are you probably have some kind of lung infection, i.e. pneumonia or empyema (which is basically pus in your lung). Do you have any fevers? What other symptoms do you have? Whats your heart rate? Describe more of your chest pain. Is it sharp? Is it localize, meaning does the pain go anywhere else and where is it specifically? Does it hurt more when you take a deep breath or when you are walking around or running around? Have you been using more pillows to sleep at night? Any recent trauma?

These are some of the questions the doc will ask you. Really to pin point what exactly is going on and any other symptoms. My money is on some lung infection such as an empyema or pneumonia, but definately get checked out if its concerned you this much. Also to rule out a pneuothorax or collapse lung is easy... chest x-ray. Easy as that. If you dont catch a pneumothorax early and it is not self-limiting it can become a tension pneumothorax -- this is FATAL if not corrected immediately-- but this usually occurs when people are on respirators or are in some kind of trauma.

Be humble, get some help.

B16Drag, He first noticed his chest pain when he woke up yesterday morning. He feels a little short of breath and it hurts to breathe deeply. He said that when he sneezes (which he is doing about every 10 min or so) he can feel pressure in his right shoulder. No recent trauma and no fevers so far. And usually he doesn't use any pillows when he sleeps. He started vomiting last night at like 11:30 and he has been in bed since then.

Fork, That wasn't a "filthy counter" it was a nightstand that we just inherited from my grandmother. She has had that thing for 25+ years. It is stained not dirty. :S Short of sanding and refinishing it there is nothing that will get those stains off.
