i have a 96 civic ex (d16y ya its not turbo yet waiting for my ------ cca intercooler anyways

i noticed my cooling fan comes on alot even though my car is not even hot, come on alot even at below normal operation temps (its very cold here right now)

now it seems when my car gets to operating temp i dont know if some valve changes somthing in my manifold or what, but its like all the sudden my car when warm and ran for a while will start to idle really low 500rpm or so steady and i hear a "blowing in a jug or bottle" sound in the intake and manifold starts

it seems to me like a valve or somthin changes it when it reaches a certain temp, my car does not over heat. i did add a ebay cold air intake recently (cheap charge piping)

if you have a/c and you have it on defrost it will kick your cooling fan in everytime your compressor cycles.

just pulled the ac out, only thing left is some of the lines goin in the firewall and the canister up in the corner

o ya and the sound is still there when i rev it up a little u can still hear it, it seems to happen like a switch, i noticed it when i pulled in from work and sat in my drivway for a sec

you gonna have to find the sound with your ears. Maybe it could be a seriously fubar intake manifold gasket sucking air in maybe? I dunno. Sounds kinda weird.

huh.. ya and by "like a switch" i mean i was sitting there idle ing then the car all the sudden switched over to 500rpm idle and the hmm from normal and like 8-900rpm idle

if you say so. maybe forced air will shut it up. i only bothers me cause my car will soon be boosted and i want to have any problems worked out before so i dont think its boost related
