Closed - Group Buy opportunity for ZC turbo pistons frm Tuner Toys

Updated:Okay Guys,

We have made the deal with Race Engineering on ZC pistons, but we have to buy five sets. We're going to do a group buy of those five sets, and pass the saving along to you guys for helping us meet our buy-in quantities. You'll end up saving about $40 ove what you would have spent buying direct from RE.

So we have set up a special page for members from HMT in our online store. Anytime you click on our banner here at HMT, either in the banner area, or in our signature, you'll be taken to this dedicated page. Anytime we have a special promotion for HMT members, it will be listed in the dedicated page. It will not be in our regular store listings, only on the deddicated page.

As of this posting, the ZC piston GB, and a GN on D-Series rods are available through this link. Click the banner ad to get connected. The HMT discount does not apply to GBs, so don't use it.

As always, let us know what you think.

Craig

Okay Guys,

Tuner Toys is going to add pistons to our product offerings...finally! A lot of you have been asking us to carry them, and now we will. We met with several manufacturers this year at SEMA, and lined up a supplier. We have to make an initial buy of quite a few piston sets to become a dealer, and need you guys to tell us what engines you would like us to carry pistons for. We'll make that initial buy, based on what you guys tell us in this poll. We'll then return the favor by giving you guys a deal on those very same pistons you have asked us to carry.

Each user gets two votes in the poll.

We plan on making our initial buy in the next week or two. Once the first shipment arrives, we'll be blowing them out to the folks who responded to the poll.

Re: Tuner Toys to offer pistons, need HMT's advice on what to offer...

What's with the compression ratio's? They're too low.

I vote for

81mm 9 to 1 B18 a/b
75mm 9 to 1 D16

Those would be the only two I would get if I had to stock up on them. ;)

Re: Tuner Toys to offer pistons, need HMT's advice on what to offer...

The b18a/b/c should not matter one bit, it bearly affects compression. I'd stock a b series sets, and a d series sets. and then after your buy in i would stock some zc sets.

8.8:1 is close enough to 9:1 i wouldnt complain.. it would be an unnoticable differance.

great idea on selling pistons but how much are they gonna be and did you use any animals for testing?

Those are mouse compression ratios. How many mice can we fit in at the bottom of the stroke, and how many mice are alive when they are at TDC.

Way to go craig, i voted for b16 and d16 pistons. Although i think the b18a/b pistons would be just as popular to many other people.

are these stock or forged pistons?

i'd prolly get a set of B18C's, and my buddy is gonna boost to hell-rebuild-reboost his LS so he'll want B18A's

no d16z6?

Craig D16 is an obvious choice. I would think the LS piston would be the next best bet as far as sales go.

He's asking what motors he should carry pistons for. I think the B17/a/b/c is becuase of bore size

Re: Tuner Toys to offer pistons, need HMT's advice on what to offer...

definitely d16a1/zc ones (ive been looking for a set that won't lower compression too low)

then b18a/b

ill end up buying the zc ones with the d series tuner toys rods i need! ;) :y

f22a pistons, we need more lovin us accord guys, and our pistons like to break or I like to break them I should say so a stronger set would be nice. Plus if cb7tuner heres about it you'll probually have a decent amount of people buying them. I also voted d16 since thats what most people run.

Craig I just put a large order through you last night but I still need rods and pistons for the engine build.I think the 81mm B18a and D16 are the way to go.I will order a set as soon as they are available.Any idea on when your going to see some? Also I was going to pick up some eagle rods or tuenr toys rods for the B18A as well put no stock on either.Do you have more coming soon?

is there any difference between d16a6 and d16z6, if not, then the d16's are a definate choice. :)

FI ZC/a1 pistons would be nice to see on the market, especially at a decent compression ratio. My other vote was b18c.

I need 2 sets

i think its a typo, especially since it has quite a few votes.

D17A's are in the 01-05 civics. they have vtec :6

im not a D-series know it all, but the D16a6 is in EF-Si's non-vtec, and the D16y8 is in EG-EX/Si's w/ vtec, and i think they're in the EK-EX's too
