the civic type R

I dont know if many of you follow motor trend very closely. I read it pretty closely, sometimes I just run through the pages...but I was on the web site, and look here...

http://www.motortrend.com/roadtests/...vic/index.html

ahh yes. The civic type R. motor trend says it will be here and I very rarely see motor trend wrong. Sometimes they are off on there dates, but hardly ever wrong. The day these come to the states, I will own one. All hands down.
I also have a hard on for the Integra type R.

it's all trendy man.. who the hell is going to buy a new car and throw a HMT kit on it?

It's a good ------- thing I don't plan on ever purchasing any cars that are under 20 years of age.. well maybe a nice 4g accord.

Re:the civic type R

just take the nice lower compresion of the bastardized K engine and boost it, it will be happy then and it will say thank you
9.5 compared to 11.0 for those who dont know

biggmike 06-20-2004 12:54 AM

Re:the civic type R

its not ever coming because they would have to sell it for the same price as a RSX to keep people from buy a SI over an RSX. just doesnt make business sense. i wouldnt be surpised if they phased out the S2K and it would make a reapprearance as a Acura model, just a thought?

Those things are still ------- butt ass ugly, I dont care how many lips/spoilers and side skirts honda puts on them, even with the fancey R badge, they simply look like ----. I'd roll a old 98 ITR anyday over that thing.

But, I'd love to get my hands on a K-series https://www.homemadeturbo.com/forum/...es/thumbup.gif

Re:the civic type R

u can get a bastardized k for like $2k, yeah i dont realy like the new civics either, they finally fixed those ford focus looking head lights, now they need to fix the tail end of the civic

I don't think they have the brand acura in the JDM market.. I've seen ITRs as "honda ITR" - but what do I know about JDM?

either way.. rice out of the box if you ask me. JUst somebody give me a nice '70 (thru 74) plymouth duster or something to wash the rice away. :P

theres no such thing as Acura in Japan, post people in Japan will probably tell you, your crazy if you ever mention Acura.

Acura is an American Brand, they basicaly took the Sporty looking Hondas and called them Acuras they tot the name honda wasent sporty enofgh ::)

Acura only exsist in United States and Canada, it's basicaly more luxurious and sporty hondas named acuras.

Honda is supose to be the economical cheep cars over here.

If it wasent for Americans we would have the Civic Type R's here long time ago, the old once and the new once... 8)

It was for Honda's anniversary, supposed to be the heir to the throne of the S1200 or S1600 or something. Some old roadster from back in the day. They were supposed to only produce it for one model year... ::)

I wish the s2000 got discountinued after one year.. ------- overpriced miata is all it is.

the prowler looks like a POS and i would take the s2k over a miata any day.

quite an ugly car.

prowlers arent the most beautiful cars, but they arent really a car they're roadsters, and a true roadster looking car. id never buy one unless they made one with a hemi or something. they arent too close stock

in the mid 14s range

2800lbs
253hp
255ft-lbs

Re:the civic type R

I got to check out a prowler about a year ago at a chrysler dealership. I crawled up underneath it and everything.

It has the 300m motor for starters, but the automatic transmission is in the back, not mated to the motor.. has a trans axle or some ---- connecting it. Just an interesting setup. Oh yeah, none of them come in 5 speed (what the salesman told me).

I always liked to see them towing around that gay colour matched trailer for people on roadtrips in their uncomfortable ass prowlers. I heard that all the rap stars were buying them for some fucked up reason.. like master P and ----.

The Intergras that comes from Japan does not wear the Acura badge only. They are labeled as "Honda Acura." Both names are listed on the trunk lids.

In the article they stated they would start selling the TypeR in the fall of 2003 as a 2004 model. It is now summer 2004...where is the car? ???

you do realize that "hemi" is a sales technique, and that almost every engine made since 1970 is technically a hemi. Chrysler puts a "hemi" badge on its cars to sell them because old stupid people think that hemi is something cool. it was something cool back when they designed hemi heads because everybody else's cars had shitty wedge heads.

a "hemi" is nothing special but a badge. all hondas are "hemi" as are most every single car on the road.

Not quite. True Hemi engines were not manufactured after 1971 until Dodge re-introduced them into it's Durango and Ram in 2003. A Hemi has a hemispherical combustion chamber--like if you cut a golf ball in half.
http://static.howstuffworks.com/gif/hemi-diagram.gif
Compared to that, Hondas and other engines have a much flatter design.

I'M AWARE OF THIS DOUCHE BAG.

its a HEMI, because it was produced in the 60s with a hemi combustion chamber and its a HEMI because its a hemi combustion chamber with OHV. its also a hemi because of what Will said. they aren't quite the same, but the same concept. JAPS DIDNT INVENT IT!

almost all OHC engiens have hemi combustion chambers. but they aren't a hemi!
