Chevy small block turbo?
I have a friend with a 72 Nova I'm helping restore and I have convinced him to go HMT on his GM crate 350.We are still doing the body but I would like to start researching what would be a good turbo to use. Were going to run it single turbo, blow through carb,MSD boost retard for timing and probably non intercooled with maybe some kind of injection like water, alchohol or propane.Anybody know of a good turbo to use for 400-500 crank hp? I realize it's mainly Honda guys around here[myself included] but I see some domestic guys around sometimes so if anybody has any links to turbo SBC sites that would be great. It seems to be hard to find info on non race style setups, but I have found a site that sells blow through carbs ready to go jetted for your setup. Thanks

its way easy to do a single srt up.Check out mikestohighpsi.com he has a excellent write up on the carb modification from start to finish. If your interested give me a shout i have the single turbo blowthrough set up on here.Running sbc with a single t4 ,.70 exhaust an .60 intake on a 11.1 sbc daily driver if the weathers good.

Re: Chevy small block turbo?
Heres a local turbo small block. 120mm turbo 1400TQ thing ran a 4.3X @ 162mph in the 1/8th. Front wheels were barely on the friggin ground this thing is a nasty f'n 350sb chevy. I couldnt get a good picture of the turbo but its massive!!

That turbo looks ------- awesome sticking through the grill. It's nice to see that domestic " muscle car guys" are finally getting with the program and going turbo. It took me a couple months to convince my buddy to go turbo but now he's stoked and can't belive why he had never thought of it himself.
Random strike that link is great been doing lots of reading as there is a wealth of information there.I was a little skeptical of boosting a carbed car but it appears to work quite well.
Cadracer what rpms are you seeing full boost at?Also you wouldn't happen to have some pictures of how you set that up?I'm thinking flipping a set of headers or using shorty's while running the two pipes to a flange in front of the waterpump area.
Thanks for the input.
