the synchronizer sleeve didnt look too sharp, slightly worn possibly. But do you have any reasoning behind a hp gain?
to play devils advocate we cant see the diff in the installed pic so maybe he installed a lsd. but yes, open a trans up is pointless unless its a LSD trans or you plan on putting it in.

Sorry I haven't been on here in a while. It's not coating at all. The reason the LSD wasn't installed was just to make sure that when the tranny was tested again and it was in the same condition as when we started so no post -----s can try and contest it. Anyway ever looked at a "billet" finish under a microscope at 1000X? This process effectively takes out all the rifts and valleys of the metal itself effectively lowering the drag coefficient. It wasn't really done for power so that's just and added bonus. We recently had an axle seal go bad and most of the oil came out of the gear box. Still shifted and operated perfect. Just to see if it would destroy itself we took it 100mph and the case was barely even hot at all. Took it apart and the only thing that showed any wear was the counter shaft and mainshft bearing on the outer case side.

This is the end all be all tranny treatment, if you want to make high hp, never grind 2nd again, do any form of racing, or like to give your car a good beating ever so often and not be afraid that you will damage the transmission this is a must! After driving with little to no oil and then seeing the gears when we opened the tranny case I'm astonished. After it started making a strange noise I thought for sure the gears were done, opened the tranny case to reveal gears that looked the same way they did NEW...the throw out bearing and counter shaft bearings were toast, mostly due to the fact they were run with no lubrication....and trust me don't worry about synchros Brian has even doctored up my spare stock tranny and it feels pretty damn smooth little to no grind what so ever and it's a completly stock 6-speed tranny...but I do miss my built tranny right now because its being disassembled at the moment. There is definitely a noticable difference in power between my stock tranny and Microknite treated transmission.
If you want the closest thing to an indistructable tranny this is your solution!
