cheap obx lsd's? Possible group buy??
 

Im trying to find the best place to buy a obx lsd for a d series. I remember someone on here said erzperformance.com on honda tech sold them for 340 shipped or something.. BUt when i found his thread http://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=1962959 he says 360 shipped but he forgets to add that his gay ass sight adds 35$ extra just for ------- tax... ---- that 400$ might as well get them from ebay...

i remember awhile back there was a possible group buy going on?? Any updates on this?? i want to get one asap.

I bought mine from them didnt have to pay the tax, but it was $425 since it was for a GSR >:(

ERZ is out of D's, one month backorder. I had to send one back because it was machined wrong, .011" runout.

Awaiting my refund......I had to pay $16 shipping back and he's taking the $15 he had to pay for shipping out of my refund.

I'll be dealing with Sparktec or Tuning Depot now, off Ebay.

SDRAWKCAB's tranny is on hold because of this......

Bone I think I found the source for these. Not sure but looks like I wont have to go through obx to get them. Would you be willing to check the specs on it to see if these new units are up to spec?

If its the same place ERZ went too......no...I know of 5 bad LSDs in his last batch.

The last batch were packed in OBX boxes, but not foam like OBX uses. One even had a piece of wood inside the case, like a bunch were shipping inside a wooded crate.

Yeah, I'm kinda leary right now about the "no stamp" units he was selling.

Thats asking a little much. Quality control in china is hardly anything to brag about. Im sure if you would like to go to the factory in china your more than welcome if you bring 5000 us dollars to buy

ERZ refunded my $345 today......now to find another.

This is the thing about cdm parts factories where things get made change etc without dealers knowing so unless you pay someone like Bone to spec out your stuff first its still very hit or miss



Example I from the looks of it can source lsd's that are by all looks/specs obx units but who really knows.

The guy seems really cool about it though.. He is filling a claim threw ups about it.. Even though it wasnt there fault..The outside box was perfectly fine, it was the box inside the big box that had the lsd in it that was damaged so obviously it was fucked before it got shipped... But the box was still sealed so im guessing they had no clue it was damaged before they shipped it...

I dont care what they do as long as i get my new lsd asap!! I need this ----!

man seems no dealer is a good one to buy from. I guess its good they are working with you to fix it.

bone you should just get a dealer liscense from obx, spec them all out yourself and then resale. id definatley get one from you

Not packed like they used to be. I thought that Thomas @ ERZ was repacking them when I saw UPS bubble mailers packed into the OBX box. But in fact he was trying to pack them better.

Got too late tonight to hammer the bearings on to see if this one wobbles.

I might take it to my buddys shop tomorrow and have him chuck it up in a lathe, the lathe he's using to turn down a Quaife to PROPERLY fit the small bearing speedo ring gear.

MAybe the end of a good thing?

Hmmm.. I bought a H series one about a month ago and it was packed very nicely with a NON LEAKING bag, diff had plenty of oil in the bag to resist corrosion, and the styrofoam packaging was perfect... Not beat up like the one in this pic.

They used to..........I started seeing the "loose packed" OBX's on the three GSR's I did, but a local shop ordered them.

A buddy of mine has told me the H series ones have some faulty OBX lsd's also found some loose bolt's and stuff so it's good to take em apart and double check everything before install

Then they say the part is lost.
HAPPENED to me with their Y8 cam got it in installed into the head, went to set valve lash and #2 cylinder the lobe would not spec out to .007-.009 removed and well you now know how it went.

Diff itself seems flawless... Bolts all torqued and good to go inside, none of the cockeyed bullshit with the case being mis aligned or anything like that....

I have a old Columbi box player with the autoload and ----.. The 3 Technics 1200s I have are for playing house... I dont own a CD player except for in my computer and the car and MAYBE 15 CDS.... 2500 Records or so... LOL.

ANyways So youre saying the diff I got SHOULD be OK???

That fuckers going in nest week... I put new bearings on it... Gears will be here tomorrow. Hope to have the thing together next weekend with the straight cuts and the LSD... Cant wait!
