Yea I'm bored at work, shoot me. Anyways I was just thinking of some cars that came from the factory with all 3 engines, at some point or another. Here are ones I can think of, add to this list if you are also bored.

Ford Taurus
Ford Mustang
Chevy Camaro
Chevy Blazer/GMC Jimmy

Who else can think of some?

edit: I've seen a Camaro with a 4 banger before but I'm not sure if they ever came from the factory with one.

TDI = 6cyl (europe)
4.2l = V8
6.0l = W12

rams never had 4 cyls

blazers/jimmys

downsize (s10 style) had 4s or 6s
full size had 8s only

lots of old "muscle cars" had 4/6/8 options, especially AMCs

and yes the camars did have the 2.5l 4 cyl for a while maybe like 82-89

Yeah, I was thinking that late 60's Ramblers had options for all three. They at least had 6/8, but I'm pretty sure there was a 4 banger on the options list.

i think they had the 2.5 in like the early to mid 80's I think the late 80's had a 2.8 v6 as their base engine

I'm pretty sure the taurus never came in 8 cylinder. The SHO's were only v6's and nothing bigger then that.

Way back, Cadillac offered a V8 that would shut off two or four cylinders as power needs lessened, then turned them back on when needed. It was called the V-8-6-4, and was a complete failure....

I imagine a 5cyl engine works like a v8 or something. Take 360deg for a rotation, multiply it by two for a 4-stroke motor, then divide the 720 by 5, one for each cylinder, and space the pistons out 144deg apart.

jeeps had 4cyl, my 80 cj had one before I swaped to a 360 :P , You said blazers came with 4 6 8 they didn't come with 4's unless your talking s series blazers then they didn't come with 8's ;)

Nope, the last faggot bodystyle with the homo-a-riffic factory spoiler was a V8. 3.2 or 3.4 liter, I forget which.

The earlier 3.0 V6 was much more interesting, IMO - the bottom end + heads could be finessed into a Vulcan 3.0 for easy RWD fitment. For when you can't fit a V8, but need a little power... SHO was a pretty decent car, their track times just sucked because the Taurus suspension is slightly less gay than a 350K mile Honduh Civic after three different Mexicans have had their way painting it different primary colors...

pre 84 had the GM Iron Duke then 84 + had the AMC 2.5

only in 1982. my dad bought one new (still has it) and the ONLY option he got was a 2.8v6 w/ 4spd manual trans.

base engine was a 2.4 i4, for 82 only, in 83 the 2.8 v6 was base.

the ford ranger comes with I4 & V6 engines, and ford's svt team made a prototype V8 model called the lightning bolt. it was supposed to be the little brother to the lightning, but it never saw production.

Umm I've never heard of a 4 banger explorer, and I think you're wrong. The only 3 engines that I've known are the 4.0L OHV V6, 4.0L OHC V6, and of course the 5.0L V8.

doh, you're right. the old explorers were based on the same platform as the ranger. got my specs messed up.

you guys ever seen that cadillac that had a 4-6-8 engine? i've only seen one, but the engine was some idea that never made it.. the car runs on 4 cylinders while idling and coasting, then 6 and 8 cylinders when needed. I guess they were junk becuase they didnt catch on.
