Yes, and yes.

Truth of the matter is that Iraq was a country of depleted means and resources after the Iran-Iraq debacle. We rolled in, deposed Saddam, and tore up any munitions factory that could make bio weapons, etc. If we had left promptly after the set up of the new government and it devolved into civil war, what of it? It's another war-torn country that lacks the power to do anything to the US for years, there is less anti-US sentiment, and we put into power + armed a faction we agree with so they'll likely come out on top. Win-win situation, duh.

I was laughing pretty hard over Bush's intent of invading Iran, and his given reasoning. The theocracy that rules Iran is completely fucked. The average Irani knows this and dislikes it. The theocracy also fed the better part of their manhood into the war machine against Iraq decades ago, so there are a bunch of 60-70-something asshats in power and what is very much an MTV generation of twenty-somethings that like (by Arab standards) material things similar to American twenty-somethings. The very nature of Iran is going to change in the next 10 years as these old kids become young adults and start to assume power over their country.

There's been a lot of narrowminded uneducated bickering arising from the content of the original video. Yes! Sure as ---- US troops assramming Iraqi vehicles does nothing but arouse justified resentment in the Iraqi populace. Yes! Sure as ---- US troops obeying local traffic laws would get pinned in by gunfire/rockets/etc so they have to drive that way. Does ANYof this have to do with the US troops? NO! Like any military force they are just following orders.

The root of the problem lies in a country following the lead of an idiot who can't speak a simple sentence without getting confused and ------- it up.

You can debate my points logically, but if you think anyone here is interested in your incoherent ramblings you are mistaken.

Buddy, I know lots of Iraqis and many of them lived through Saddam's brutal days. I don't really think you need to survey Iraqis to find out that they want US out. Watch Aljazeera :P
