Car Insurance..Who do you go through/who has the best rates?

I've been searching around for an insurrer for my del sol, Its in excelent shape so I want full coverage, I was quoted at over $700 for six months, with a 250/500 deduct. That is rediculous theres no way i'm paying that, even with a 1000/1000 its about $600. I'm 19 and have one badass speeding ticket (53 over) but I dont think they see how bad the ticket was. Where have you found the best rate's and where is the best place to start looking?

Re: Car Insurance..Who do you go through/who has the best rates?

that's decent in my opinion... 700 per 6 months would be BASIC liability for my with a CRX :-\

Re: Car Insurance..Who do you go through/who has the best rates?

At your age, you're screwed. I pay $160/month for full cov on an 8year old SUV and I'm 25. $1000 deduc and no glass coverage with nothing extra. In about 7 months my insurance will drop down to like $90/month. I'll have a clean driving record for the first time in my life. :6

I'm with progressive BTW.

116/month isn't bad for a del slow and for your age.. and especially for having a rediculous speeding ticket.. Have fun finding someone that will even insure you if you're serious about that speeding ticket. That should go down in your record as reckless driving

Yeah quit your bitching.

When I had a SPOTLESS record at the age of 18, and had a weaksauce del slo base model, it was still $1600 for 6 months...on my mom's policy. By myself it would have been $3200 every 6 months. So like I said, quit bitching.

This year I got 16 traffic violations in the first 2 months, and that doesn't include past ones. My license has been suspended 3 times and I've been caught driving on a suspended license 4 times (which each time got changed to "driving without a license" because I got a new one and oddly it's better to not have a license than to have a suspended one). I'm curious what the insurance will cost on all my vehicles. I'll probably only insure the crx.

It was $80 for liability @ 18, clean, and $20 nerd discount.

Wait until you are ~27, for men the rates drop down a lot at that age because statistically speaking we are a lot calmer and usually don't drive like asshats.

Re: Car Insurance..Who do you go through/who has the best rates?

25... to insure my '05 neon srt4 was running me $1200 some odd dollars every 6 months.. ($213) with a 250/250 deductible.

Some management of my finances later..

It's only $170 with a 1000/1000 deductible.

Before I turned 25 I was paying $245 a month... clean driving record. I'm with progressive.

Re: Car Insurance..Who do you go through/who has the best rates?

i think I take the cake... my daily driver would cast me 15k to insure full over for a year... and that's with the discount of paying all up front... lol... sucks

Re: Car Insurance..Who do you go through/who has the best rates?

Wow, insurance companies are such a crock of ----. I figured this was expensive, las summer it cost me $80 a month for full coverage with 250/500, so I thought I was getting skull fucked at a $117. My integra costs me $38 a month for basic liability, I think I'll just keep driving that until I finish the Z6 build, thanks for the imput guys.

My wife and i pay $456 every six months. Full coverage on a 1998 Honda Civic EX and a 1994 Acura Integra LS. Think deductible is 500. Insurance drops like crazy when you turn 25. Having two clean liscenses is also a good start. We have the independent version of Progressive. It's called "Drive Insurance".

I'm 28, 3 speeding tickets, married and have our house insurance through the same place also and can you say the change between my couch could pay for our auto insurance. My Galant VR4 is cheaper with full coverage then all of my hondas I've had. WooT wOOt!

I think that's what I have. I have 2 speeding tickets and an at fault accident(god damn old ass mother ------- dinosaur rips my tailgate off in a parking lot and it's my fault :7) on my record until November. After that I'm never speeding again. You can find my ass in the slow lane. :1 :3

I know what you mean. I remember being 19 and paying $155 a month for my car payment and $350 a month for insurance. Something wasn't adding up back then lol.

farmers insurance, $36 a month for liability so thats $432 a year. I've been meaning to go up to full coverage, it doesn't cost much more, I've just been lagging.

Any tickets? That seems kinda pricey. I expect to be paying half of that soon, but it is 6 years older than your car. :l

Re: Car Insurance..Who do you go through/who has the best rates?

^^^ Actually, this is either my 9th or 10th vehicle and 6 or 7 of those were at one time or another wrecked(not always turned in on insurance though)...2 of those were total losses...as far as tickets go, I quit keeping up with that a LOOOONG time ago...I'd say I've had 5 or 6 actual SPEEDING tickets in that time, the worse being an 88 in a 55. I think speeding tickets stay on your driving record only a certain amount of time though...When you are younger your insurance is DEFINITELY gonna be higher(I believe rates take a substantial drop when you hit 25, IF you have a relatively clean MVR)...Best bet for a younger person is to try and let your parents list your car on THEIR insurance and just list you as a secondary(I THINK that's what it's called) driver...but my mom would never go for that ----, either :3

I believe most insurance companies use the past 3 years of your driving record. I know every company I have been with uses the last 3 years. I think major offenses might be 5 years? All I know is I'm keeping my record clean from now on. It's much cheaper that way.

I love progressive. I spent over an hour playing with the different options to see what coverage i wanted for the price. I have liability only on my 1998 CBR600F3 and its only $11.75 per month.

Being old has its perks.

Geico insurance for the Wagon and CRX is $58/month total, for the state minimum.

State Farm here. 52 a month for my Toyota Truck, 63 for my CRX (might change, since that was just a quote). 20 years old, zero accidents, zero tickets and a 3.4 college GPA.
