your obviously a dumbass complex. You carefully plunge a small amount of French fries (of the same thickness) and cook them for 4-5 minutes. Strain them and set them aside. Repeat this step until all your potatoes are done.

That is how its properly done.

If you have a fryers and you want to do fries precook them at 250-275 for 5-8min. (until they are cooked)

Remove them. Put the temp at 375-400 (depending the brand of the fryers) and wait for the oil to get the good temp.

When oil is hot, cook them until they look like the way you want them to be.

Like this the inside is tender and the outside is crunchy. For homemade fries, I like the cut a little bigger tho

I bought fries today from "Frite Alors", a restaurant well known in montreal and they are so GOOOD!

I don't know how they make them, but they are always perfect. It's a belgium resto btw.

I ate that with some chicken wings

I will try this malt vinegar next time!

malt vinegar is delicious, makes for good dressings (ie coleslaw and homemade salad dressings)

I'm not a big ketchup fan so I eat mustard, cheese sauce (think nacho stuff), chili, or gravy on my fries.
