as i said in another thread. sold the car to a guy...he sold it to another....now im told he no one has ever registered the car since i sold it. ive found places that you can do a vehicle search via name/tag....but i dont have the cash.

does anyone have a carfax account and can look up via name or tag....or belong to one of those net detective things

nope. one of my old cars im trying to get back. i found out that my name is still registered on the car. when i signed the title over to the car....he turned around and sold it to someone else....long story short...under the buyers signature, there are 4 different names that were signed then marked out and resigned by the next buyer. which voids the title.


im about to go take the damn car back.

it was your old car, you don't keep records? you should have the vin on some type of document somewhere. or ---- man, you are the registered owner still, just go to the damn dmv.

If it's never been registered after you then the title is still in your name no matter how many people it was sold or whatever. Just get your vin and go down to the DMV and apply for a lost title. I think it's like 20 bucks here or something. If those fuckers can't ------- title a car then ---- them. Is the car still driveable or like a shell or parts car or something?

what happens if he pulls out in front of somebody, kills them and there kid in the back seat. he gets out. takes the tag off(which belongs to a different car) and runs....cops run the vin. then im fucked



its been a ------- year. im from a somewhat small town...people around there know how to get in touch with me.

and to be honest...i could give two shits about that car...it has chassis damage. but my repo buddy is going to buy the car from me and let me snatch whatever parts i want sans the motor/tranny. which is perfect...i only want a few parts off it.

the car is still drivable...but ive already got a crx and an avalon(dd). the car has a bent chassis..got rear-ended but drives perfect. you pull the krinkle out of the side and you wouldnt notice. but yea. i really dont have the room, nor the cash to insure. im pulling the exhaust and a few other parts off and selling it to my friend thats helping me repo

I see both points here. You shouldn't just take the car man thats basically stealing something you sold to someone :1

Then again the car technically is still in your name and if something happens its your ass. Why not contact the guy and find out why he hasn't registered it yet?

as far as im concerned...the guy i sold the car to didnt complete his contract in the sale by not registering the car in his name. he voided the contract by marking through his name on the title. thats the way the state sees it...its the way i see it.


joshMO...its not my responsibility to contact him. its his..he's had a year and even though im away at college and dont "live" there anymore, im not difficult at all to get a hold of.


jago... 35000ish person town, ------ out. there is nowhere to get a parking ticket around here...even then. it would be on his other cars tag that is currently on this car(which is illegal)
