Cable TV gurus? Employees? I'll pay you for help.
This deserves its own thread, it's driving me nutty!
I need to get into the cable box on the outside of my house. Basically the cover slides straight off, but now there is a lock installed. It spins freely by hand and does nothing. Here is a pic: http://img162.imageshack.us/img162/8480/cable2ug.jpg Here are pictures of the three tools I have tried to use so far http://img111.imageshack.us/img111/2564/noncam14la.jpg http://img106.imageshack.us/img106/7117/cam11vo.jpg http://img83.imageshack.us/img83/1737/cabletool33uh.jpg $10 to anybody who gives me information about what type of tool to use and where I can get one. The hole in the middle of the lock is roughly 1/8" maybe just a hair smaller. None of the tools I have tried so far even fit in it. |

That won't work. I need the correct tool so I can re-install the lock when I am done.

Re: Cable TV gurus? Employees? I'll pay you for help.
have you tried using a lock pick tool set. im sure one of your friends has one. tell him to come over and have at it or buy one. or are those locks suppose to be a lot different then a normal key hole? also the only way to find out what type of lock it probibly is, is to either brake it and look, or know the company and have a insider tell you. because im guessing all those tools you already bougth should of worked for a normal one.
