So I think I'm gonna buy an xbox 360 but I don't know ---- about them, I've only played it a couple times. Is there anything I should look out for. I want to mod it to play burned games. I know I wont be able to play other people online but I don't care about that. But will I loose any other functionality, if I mod it. I though I heard that I wanted one with a sticker that says 175 watts or something like that.

aslong as you NEVER put a modded xbox to an internet connect. once you do it, you've done it b/c as it turns out MS can look at previous things done to the xbox's.
there's lots of firmware hacks / replacements / drive mods, etc so doing burned games is easy.
nobody knows if the new .65 cpu's and their boards are better than the old ones the soilder joints would fail, but if you can get a newer one they do run alittle cooler.

the ebay 360's can be had for VERY cheaply, but be warned. many of them are on their last month of the OEM warranty, or have rescently expired. I wouldn't worry about buying an E. If you're seirous about staying offline you can do the 120g WD hard drive mod for like $50 or cheaper now. if you like black just buy the black ---- at walmart and swap your white ---- & keep free xbox live cards lmao
eventually when someone figures out how to drop games to the HD im sure microsoft will go after the HD firmware swaps, but until then they most likely won't be looking for it.



i like online, its the best part you can do it free easily andthe quality is alot higher than others. lotta ---- randomly goes free for a day every few months too. half my arcade games were simply because they went free one day and somebody told me so i caught it lol

I'm buying an xbox 360 pretty soon also, but it's not going to be modded since I will be playing online a lot. I guess the newer ones have a 3 year warranty for the red ring of death, that was a big issue with them. Here is a forum with some info that I found... www.xbox360forum.com

If you mod it just dont play the burned games on live, I did a few
times on mine and I was ok Again it could have been luck but
if you stick with real games on live they cant get you for now
