Buying a Grand Cherokee *Fook Plz look*

I am going to need a new car for my DD being that my wife is due to give birth any day now, and my Civic doesn't have rear seats to put the baby. I want something new but could be a leftover. Hopefully the warranty will prevent me from modifying it. >:D
I was thinking of a Ford Explorer or a Chevy SUV. My commute is short and maybe high gas prices will allow dealers to offer incentives on their stock.
I know nothing about buying a new car I usually pay sticker price. :1 Im sure leftover models would be a good option. Any ideas?

Older crv. With a 5 speed Or a chevy trailblazer. I know alot of people will say 4runner, But I cant stand them.

My wife dosent care for them, so we ended up with a 2007 TrailBlazer LT. I will say Its a nice ride. 4wd, heated leather seats, dual climate control (driver has one, pass has one, and rear pass has one) 4.2 inline 6 290ish hp, and 270ish tq. This is the 2nd chevy Ive owned. I hated my first one, But this one feal realy solid. Full frame. I cant wate for it to snow so I can check out the 4wd. Oh, and gm gave it to me with the gmac finc. at 3.9% 5 year and 100k powertrain, and a 39k bumper to bumper. I paid about 17k for it used, Only had about 20k when we got it. As for mpg, its ok for a bigger suv. 15 in town and 22 on the freeway. 88dx work for chevy and he even says that for a chevy they are a pretty good overall car besides the front diff leaks that they will eventual have. Overall its been a great car. One I would feal safe for my kid to ride in.

Unless you get blindsided by a semi, you will live thru any accident in a 4runner. :6

I really wanted a new 09 Camry SE, but I doubt I can get any deal on it . Chevy now has the employee pricing so I'm gonna go to the stealership and see what's good.
I know some people are really good at haggling and researchin buying cars like asking for the invoice and getting a really low price so I'm gonna keep my civic as a hobby car and look into a dumbestic. :l

4 runners are hot but IFS is utterly worthless on anything that requires testicular fortitude.

look into the suzuki SX4 crossover for something that you or the misses can drive
looks a bit goofy but is better on gas and the wallet then most domestic pieces of ----
also comes with AWD option so winter drifting is an option

Re: Buying a new car advice

The whole reason I went with the trailblazer is it was a great price, 100k powertrain warnt, and the drivetrain is rock solid. What ever you do do not buy a ford escape!!!!! I had one and they are transmission nightmare!! mpg sucked ass! 18 on the freeway, and 12-14 in town.
