Buying First Dirt Bike. Want To Turbo. Which Bike? Turbo Info PLZ!

So Im getting bored with my current projects. A 88 Honda Crx that I just finished with a big forged motor, big turbo. Lots of fun. And my n/a 225whp civic.

My friends are into the dirt sports, 2 4-wheelers (700 raptor, KFX700) and my other friend has an 05 CR125

I wanna jump into the mix this season and start riding a bike I think.

Im 20 years old. I like to go fast, I like to have fun. Not into lollydaggin arond, we rip trails and rail beds and such, lots of flats and no dunes or sand or extreme heat or anything of the sort.

Im looking to spend as little as possible on the bike itself actually. Im a student and saving money is a descent priority.

The end result will be to make a semi-reliable (would like to go away for a weekend without breaking down, 3-5 hours of driving) dont mind doing regular maintenance or rebuilds and such though.

The main thing I want a bike for though is for a project. I want to turbo this bike. Because Im known for loving turbos and its just different I guess.

I would love any information anyone has on which bike and type to get. Sounds like a 250 4 storke or something might be a great start. But I dont know much about boosting a bike. What it takes. Where you get oil from and to, where you get your fuel from and how it accomodates for the positive pressure. And if the bike can even handle possitive pressure.

If anyone can give me any info, pictures or advise Id love it.

I searched but found pretty much nothing on turboing a relatively cheap bke

Thanks guys

You don't need a turbo if its a trail bike. You'll actually go faster investing in a steering stabilizer instead of a turbo.

waiting for a turbo to spool riding trials would be crappy.

if you really want to do it, find a bike with a oil pump/cooler, and you'll probably have to have a fairly large bike 400+cc to even spool a turbo you could find for relatively cheap, if you want to keep it cheap would have to draw through the carb, who knows if you can fab it up to keep the stock cables, etc... you'll need to make a intake manifold for it, or some wierd intake boot.

Johny I was hoping youd have some info for me as I thoughtyou were the one witht he turbo bike, and a turbo 3 wheelers

What bike for cheap should I look for? Was hoping for a 250 4 stroke I guess

Im sure a KKK turbo or even something smaller would spool

I just dont know which bike can take it, how to manage it and how to force the boost into a carb withouth blowing seals and such

Im a newb to carbs

Wanting a trubo bike for trail riding is pretty retarted. I rarely get out of second gear while trail riding in my quad and wouldnt want to have a turbo that would flip me backwards onto a jagid pile of rocks as it spools in first gear while trying to get over a fallen tree branch.

Its just not practicle. Now if you wanted to drag race it I can see how it would be relevent there.

Johnny had a turbo street bike that he has since sold, I belive. His 3 wheeler isn't turbo charged.

It's too big for me to throw around, but hed my uncle pull off ome amazing ---- on his. And the dinky head pipes are misleading. It's a single cylinder, one pipe for each valve (also two carbs, one for each intake valve too :o )

Re: Buying First Dirt Bike. Want To Turbo. Which Bike? Turbo Info PLZ!

yea blow me, my 450s got 5 valves ooooo oooo get on ur knees, and i dont care if it has 2 10mm carbs, that bike is a pile of ---- and uncapable of doing anything someone with balls has on a dirtbike, just a unbalanced heavy piece of ----. 450s are single cylinder and the ------ bore is bigger then a gsr bore pole smoker, so stuff that in your pipe and smoke it. the difference is that bike is made for old and fat people, if u want power and dont have to ---- around get a 450cc ------. stock 450 owns whatever else u want to turbo.

It all depends on what type of riding you do. The new 4-strokes are great for the trails because you can never really open the bike up so suspension and low end torque plays more than power. If your doing alot of riding in open spaces where there's room to hold it WFO than get a 2-stroke becuase its going to be a long time before a 4-stroke is able to keep up with a 2-stroke.

a properly built 250 will ------- own u. 0 to WFO as fast as u can shift. no need to turbo it is scary enough.
not for the broke ass though. i drive the ---- out of it and rebuild it after every 2nd weekend of riding (piston, rings, gaskets bout 2 bills)
Worth every cent.

---- ------ i pass 250 2 strokes like they are sitting ------- still, i dont think half you idiots even ride, let alone ever been on a 450f real motocross bike, it is a ------- rush most people dont even get 450's because they complain about too much power, all the olds and ----, face it hoes 2 strokes r fading out, 4 strokes own ur oil coverd ---- ride. 4 do u think the pros do not ride 2 strokes anymore, its all about the 450's, 2 strokes cant even keep up anymore even those are full race, and those guys are more equal riding capability then anyone here. i ride in the mountains and on tracks, its great for both.

Since your an idiot I'm not going to argue with you. Like I said it all comes down to what type of riding you do. I know my 2-stroke would gouge your eyes out and skull ---- you. 4-strokes are for pussies who ride in slow ass trails, people on 2-strokes do ---- like this:

Come back and talk when your 4-stroke can make over 100HP reliably. Until than have fun with your $1000 rebuilds becuase your ---- needs to have titanium valves, microscopic pistons skirts and 200 more cc's to even compete with a 2-stroke.

1k rebuilds? last time i checked a complete top end rebuild wasnt much over 200. my friends old 450 had over 300 hours on the hour meter, only thing that was ever done was a piston ring, go blow up your pile of ----, my 4 stroke spins faster then your pos 2 cycle nut hugger hillbilly, when u get enough $ to man up and get a real toy hit me up.

Re: Buying First Dirt Bike. Want To Turbo. Which Bike? Turbo Info PLZ!

I raced from when i was 5 to when i was 18 and left for the military. raced intermediate which is one class under pro.
started on 50's, then went 80's then went 125's then to YZ250F when it came out. When YZ250F's came out 2 strokes in the 125 class just couldn't compete. The tourque coming off of burms and out of corners and going up Uphills and Washougal was uncomparible. One of my first races in intermediate class i was riding a yz125. Took ninth in my moto. For the second heat i rode my buddy's dads YZ250F and killed the class. That was when they were brand new. Then i took both of my YZ125's back into Power Yamah in sublimity,OR and got a new 250F and never went back. They are unbelievable bikes and you 2 stroke lovers are just ignorent. 4 strokes play a major role in supercross and motocross these days. The new 450F's school built 250 2 strokes all day long.

450F>250 2 stroke
