Re: Building a new computer, need some HMT geek advice.
Almost done shopping
Id love to rock a faster Athlon 3500, but after the 3000+ the price just takes the ---- off.
One last question regarding memory. WTF is the huge price diff. of 1g of pc3200? Like anywhere from $60 all the way to $150. All I can really see is a diff. in CAS latency and registered/unregistered. Does it really matter? I also noticed corsair makes some mem with low latency for OCing.
Got any good memory review links? Cant find much for that on THG

ditch the raptor. its overprice and the seagate i put in mine has higher min/max/avg transfer rates. the only thing good w/ the raptor is seek times, but once ---- is rendering it doesnt need to seek for it anymore.
also.. what's the wattage on your PSU. how old is it?
