Agreed, but I've never had a belgian beer that wasn't ten times better than Buttweiser.

Most of what makes it to America is super light white ales, not my thing. I had one once that had a hint of cinnamon to it and was decent... I'd drink it again if I ran across it at a bar, but it's far and away not something I'd drink two of, buy a sixer of, or deliberately seek out.

I am germany where I think beer is life. I had so many different beers and so many I never heard of.
but belgian beers are the best tasting beers I had, I only had 2 but I remember one real good, named chimay. fruity beer.
the the chech version of budweiser is not bad either.
I think I need to stay off the beers my belly is showing.

If you mean Budvar, now marketed as Czechvar, the villiage of Bud has been making their beer for a few centuries now, they just didn't have the financial clout to oppose A-B when they sued for use of "their" trademark Bud.

I prefer local microbrews, I don't care for budweiser or crud light or miller, or coors, or PBR, or any of those. I like my Moose drool, Trout Slayer, Salmon Fly Honey Rye etc.
