Re: Bring slicks, not excuses
how were you guys launching on them? Just like redline clutch dumps or? they tell me that M&Hs like to get big burnouts and stage immediatley with low air pressure in them (10-12psi) what do you reccomend?

Re: Bring slicks, not excuses
Bump from the dead. I was curious if it is possible for stock 13s you find any where to fit on a Honda. Brake clearance wise. This is on my Civic Ex and I have 14s I have just cleaned up, but look at these tires I found.
http://store.summitracing.com/partde...5&autoview=sku They come in 215/50/13 and 235/50/13 for both they are under $100 a piece. Not too bad in my research attempts. Is it worth trying to snag 13s and throw these tires on? Sorry to thread jack, but I also am curious (as is the thread starter) on the launch. Wondering if he took them out yet too. :y JP |
Re: Bring slicks, not excuses
the "I" tread blocks like to squirm quite a bit.
Get slicks or go home......... |
Re: Bring slicks, not excuses
I cut some low 1.6's on 22"x8 -14's. :)
But my drive wheels are on the correct end of the car >:D Have fun, they should make a huge difference. Later Randy |

Get slicks or go home......... Squirrrrrrrrm? ??? I'm having trouble finding slicks about $100 a piece and I have a mild concern of ripping my tranny out. Suggestions now? JP |
Re: Bring slicks, not excuses
If you dont just dump the clutch off the line you wont have to worry about breaking ---- (as much). Its the inital shock of the clutch engaging and the tires grabbing instead of slipping that breaks ----. Plus, if you just dump, you probably will just bog because hondas just (usually) dont have the torque to turn over big fat stickies fast enough at low rpm. Launching is 90% technique, and 100% practice.

Re: Bring slicks, not excuses
That's what I was going to do was slip it out in fear of tranny issues.
