Bought a Sport Bike Today (pic)

So I finally ordered a bike today, and its a 2004! Here's a pic:

http://images.andale.com/f2/124/107/...9_blue_tmp.jpg

OK, OK, its not a real bike but it will do 40 mph! Its called a pocket bike or a pocket rocket and I can't wait to get it! Good deal too, only $400 shipped to my work! So anyway, I'll keep you guys posted of how badass it is when I get it. 4 of my friends got one too so we're gonna go to the local dragstrip and run them to see who's the fastest. I'm already making plans to modify the ---- out of it. Maybe a turbo if you guys can help me feasibly dream up a kit for it. Its a 49 cc 2 stroke if anyone cares. I'm gonna add a little methane when I take it to the track so hopefully that will give me the advantage, we're all chipping $50 into a pot and the fastest takes it all. Anyone ever have any experience on these? Let me know what you think.

haha, ok I have to admit I'm not a bike enthusiast so you had me thinking it was a real bike when I saw the picture... until I saw those fatty tires :-X

Re:Bought a Sport Bike Today (pic)

LOL, I had a Harley, but I sold it because they are poorly constructed and watching my buddies front tire fall off and crashing into him wasn't too cool. :-\

My friend recently became a dealer for those things. I could have got you one for like $350. :P I think they are junk. His personal bike has broken the pull start 2 times now. They are cheap and I wouldn't waist my money on them. If it's not too late I would suggest getting your money back. I don't mean to sound like a dick and rain on your parade, but they are so damn fragile it's not even funny. The first ride I went on my friends chain snapped, fixed that, the front tire fell off, I crashed into him and that was the last ride I took before I sold it. :-\

Re:Bought a Sport Bike Today (pic)

the construction seems kinda weak compared to the European scooters and 50cc bikes.
Here you can get a lot of upgrade parts for them.
Me and a friend worked on a Aprilla SR50 we changed the cilinder block and the head and piston with an aluminum piece and raised it to 70cc got a better muffler some different rolers. that thing was fast ....weighing only 80 kilo's it ran more then 120 km/h that's about 70 mph compared to the stock 45 mph.

Re:Bought a Sport Bike Today (pic)

Yeah, its not an italian, its chinese or some ---- but fuckit the price was right so now I have a little room to work on "upgrades". They had mini choppers too, we almost thought about buying them, but the sportbikes look like more fun.

Re:Bought a Sport Bike Today (pic)

Re:Bought a Sport Bike Today (pic)

uhhh, cause I can't afford one. Plus, its taking all of my manhood just to get my wife to let me turbo the Civic, let alone buy a real bike. I already have to come up with some lame ass excuse as to how I'm getting this new toy. Sometimes married life sucks balls, but for the most part its gerat. I guess there is trade-offs for everything in life. Her biggest complaint is that I'm spending money while we are "temporarily" living with her parents. Oh well. ::)

Those things are piles of ----. I guarentee something breaks the first ride you take on it. It will probably be something that prevents you from riding it until it gets fixed. >:(

aww man, that ------- sucks. way to be a downer Doc, you assmunch! j/king, ahh who cares, if it sucks I know I can sell it for at least $100 more then I'm paying for it, lots of idiot kids around here. It'll be about a month til I get it but like I said, we'll see. Basically, we're using them as advertising for my shop, we're gonna be running shop stickers on them at the local car shows and racing events so we can get our name out there.

Xplocivic 03-30-2004 09:03 PM

Semnos 03-30-2004 09:05 PM

That would be some funny shhhhh ;D ;D ;D ;D

Re:Bought a Sport Bike Today (pic)

Yeah, I lost $50 when I sold mine, but ---- it. I had fun for that one day. We rode the hell out of them. It takes forever to run a tank of gas in one of those things. Just remember to run the break-in ratio for the first tank full. It takes alot of oil to hit 20:1. I was dumb and mixed 3 gallons of 110vp race gas and my expensive ass Golden Spectro 2 stroke oil. That was an expensive tank of gas. :-\

Yeah that would be some funny ---- if the wheels fell off when we were riding at the track........or not. Hopefully, ours won't be huge shitboxes and we can have some fun on them.

yah, thge mods out for my bike are unbelieveable. they got a 70cc conversion and a tranny conversion, but since its in greece, and they regulate ---- soo strictly, they wont allow any visual modifications. well, they dont allow any, just make sure they dont see it.

one dude on the island runs a honda monkey with a 50cc that pushes like 35 hp. that thing is insane fast.

Damnit I wish I had a camera. I built myself a mini chopper. Its got apehanger bars and all. I built it out of steam pipe and built a jig to bend the pipes. Runs off a 2.5hp motor. We clocked it at 40 something mph. If your worried about reliability, build it yourself...

A handful of them showed up to the track here last summer but just for exhibition like what you were talking about doing. They run like 30 sec. quarter miles, but if there are two people racing it's fun to place bets on who will win.
