On Saturday evening, August 27th, racers, carshow and sound competitors will converge in Kent, WA at Pacific Raceways for the 2nd annual Battle of the Imports.

This event will feature 10-drag racing classes for racers of all levels including the popular "fun runs." Heads-up classes for Pro's and Street (including bikes) will be offered. The Import Racer! Magazine carshow has over 100 awards available to imports, sport compacts, trucks, SUV's, MUV's and now late model domestics such as the Chrysler 300C. Car audio competitors can also compete in the 2X points USACi SPL and SQ competition for valueable points and trophies.

The action doesn't stop here ... especially with the interactive vendors midway, the finestmodels.com swimsuit competition, a live photoshoot with hot import models such as Nikita Esco and more, live DJ's, free giveaways and much more!

i don't think it's worth waiting in line for the fun runs.. last time i went to a test n tune, they were also doing like the diesel truck national semi-finals or some ----.. i got there at like 7, and only ran twice by the time we left at like 930 =\

don't ask about my times.. clutch is slipping and i kept missing 3rd for some weird reason in hell

That's exactly what I don't want happening. I mean, it's cool to go out there and check out the runs, and it'll be awesome to see some of you guys that I haven't seen in a really long time, but I want to get a fair amount of races in if I'm gonna be paying $35.

If we all get there at the ass of AM and switch tires while waiting for the gates to open, I bet we could get 4-5 runs in the 'fun runs'. Im not planning on running brackets. My truck shifter isnt set up for consistancy O0

Ill check out the street turbo class. Id just hate to get eliminated early and not be able to get some good passes in once it gets dark out.

ya know if you still have your yellow card it's only $25. although, price will probably be different cuz it's an event. prolly like $20 to get in, and like $30 to participate in fun run, and like $50 for bracket. someshit like that. it's probably on the pacificraceway website.. i'll have to check it out

So then you have to declare what you're doing if you're racing? By this I mean, if you say "fun runs," then you can't compete in a class? And if you compete in a class and get eliminated, then you're done for the day? I think it'd be cool to enter into "street-stock," but I'm not trying to lose after one race and have to be on the bench for the rest of the day.

you should have 2-3 qualify runs im sure you can get into line for braket if you lose

word, i did that on a sport compact challenge at woodburn once, eliminated on my first pass, but hey at least i got one more pass in ;)

yep. im not racing cause i don't like calling my brother for a tow when he lives 2 hours away and i live 45 minutes from him. his 460 power crew cab drinks gas and i don't feel like bothering him for help these days.

it was funny, last time i went down the track, i was against some black riced out integra (probably a GSR, he kinda kept up) and it was so funny, when i missed 3rd he started to catch back up to me. 3rd went it, hit the gas, and i immediately pulled away again lol

Figured I'd bump this up to see what everyone's status is. I'm getting pretty amped about Saturday, I hope I don't get disappointed.

my status:
-I got convinced by a buddy of mine to try and compete in a class, so I'm entering in "Street-Stock." It's for NA cars and requires that the motor be the one that comes with the chassis (so no swapped EH's). I'm not sure how it works when in a class, but I guess I'll find out Saturday. The only thing I'm worried about are people coming with drag slicks, 350z's, S2000's, GS400's, etc... oh and me ------- up on my driving or my car breaking somehow (I don't know why, but I get the feeling that my clutch is going to take a ---- soon).
-Since I'm going to be competing, I removed a good portion of my interior... stuff from behind the driver's seat to the rear. On a bathroom scale, it came out to like ~65 lbs, which is decent I think?
-My car will be in "loud mode," running an open 2.5" cat.
-Is anyone going to be video taping? It'd be cool to get some runs on camera and digital somehow, but I don't have a good camera.

...lets see what everyone is doing to get ready and what not!

I got a camera man lined up. My brother and another friend will be coming to watch. :)
For once I know Ill get some good footage with Mike behind the camera. Maybe he can show Steve how the Auto/Manual focus works :P
