Default BMW's

I'm considering buying a bmw for a dd. I would get an older one like an early 90's. What are your opinions on bmw's? Are they good cars or a big money trap?

My friend has a 318is and it's a pretty decent car but unless you have parents with money i wouldnt rock an old luxury car. Parts are at least double of what they would be on a comparable RWD car and thats IF you can find them : P. If you do drive some german car the parts company WorldPac is your friend
