blown turbo
 

well i waited for 5-6 weeks to get my turbo back from blaast. not a pleasant experience. then finally it comes. so i install the turbo on my car and cruise around town for a week or so. maybe put 100 miles on the damn thing. then i notice oil every where on the turbo and am like ---- thats not good. but im leaving for work so i figure i will deal with it later. well i finally took it off and the silver plate that to compressor housing is attached to is totally loose. so im like ----. then i look at the fins. ------- chowdered. now im leaving again tomorrow at 5am and cant send this ---- out. let alone do i want to. i am in such a rage. ive sent him a message. and i hope that we can work this out. but i seriously have my doubts from other accounts i have read about on this site. i dont know what this accomplishes but i had to vent somewhere.

I have seen a few threads over the past year on here about bad turbos.I had one rebuilt it works tits and the service was super fast too :-\ I know of others that had the same great experience i had.I know shipping can be a ---- but that is customs due to cross border.

so was the comp housing loose? or the plate that actually bolts to the center section?

that has nothing to do with him clock it negro. thats the BACKING plate that loose not the comp hosing.

thought he said 'compressor loosely bolted to backing plate' not 'backing plate loosely bolted, with bolted on comp housing'

yeah, watched video. guess he forgot to torque some ----. reminds me of the head job the mechanics have been workin on, oil pump ---- because an un-torqued, rtv'd headgasket leaked, sucked rtv, plugged oil pump. this was AFTER they replaced the shattered timing gear from the cam seizing from lack of oil. also, compression is 175-175-176-75, right to left, front to back, thanks to mr bent valve

majority of reviews are good.. some are bad.. but from what ive read he takes care of his customers so you should have no problem with return and rebuild for free and ---- idk

as far as a rebuild im not sending ---- just to wait another 5 weeks for it to come back.
before you post something to make me look bad read the whole post, i even added video for the real ignorant ones.
and me talking a ton of trash on him, well i may be a little out of line. but i am so pissed i dont even care.

Wait times normally are not long it is just a dice roll with customs and at the end of the day he has rebuilt hundreds/thousands of turbos with very little negative results.

im not saying its his fault, im just saying im not going to wait that long again. the way it was shipped to me, i had no idea where it was and couldnt get that info from anyone. i would rather waste my money on a new turbo than wait again, completely in the dark on the whereabouts of mine. if i can get it shipped some more secure way without it costing more thats fine. its just to much of a gamble w/ canada post

On the turbo I purchased from him most of the bolts were loose, some bottomed out before they were tight. I just ground them down and snugged them all up. Its not somthing you should just throw in and say good to go, its on of those things that should be checked. I understand that ur pissed tho, hopefully you guys can work somthing out. My turbo was shipped to me in about a week, no real complaints here.

so when you pay to get a motor rebuilt you should have to go through and re torque everything ? ---- that dont make excuses for that french piece of ----. this is like the 15h time this has happened.

Mine was great and super quick as I am also in Canada. It's funny to see how upset all the americans get when they have to wait for shipping, Canadians etc just factor in long shipping times into their builds as nearly everything has to come through customs if you want to pay a decent price. And that doesn't include the standard UPS brokerage raping that leaves anyones ass looking "chowdered".

its definitely not your job to check...but you didnt notice that when you were putting it in? Unless it was just barely loose and then got worse over time. Anyway, Id rather have a used OEM turbo or a brand new one than a rebuild, but thats just me.

get ready for the excuses if he ever does respond, never trust the french, ive lived in this country long enough to know that. but its most likely he gets most of his business from these local frenchturds, so if he decides not to get back to you im sure he not loosing out on that big of a piece of the ol' profit pie

Ouch, that sucks. Ive gotten turbos from Blaast w/o incident but Ive always called and spoke directly to Guilliam (sp). Give him a call Im sure that he will take care of it.

No, and I guess you're kinda right. But still its one of those things thats so easy to just check, why wouldnt you? All my experience with him has been good I would and prolly will buy from him again.
