Also, I wouldn't ride a bike in the street even if I had right-of-way, there's too many bad drivers. I have the right of way in a parking lot but I don't walk in front of idiots.

Re: Bike riders in the street
Seriously, who the hell rides in the middle of the road? No one does that here. Riding in the middle of the road is only done when there's no traffic and it's safe to do. It's basically unheard of unless you're riding through the country on roads with gravel shoulders. We ride on the shoulder and get in the grass/sidewalk/gutter when cars come by and people still throw ---- and harass us.
I have never in my life been held up by someone riding in the middle of the road in the city. I have in the country but when that happens all that you need to do is slow down until it's safe to pass. I would assume most of the time, riders watch out more for cars than the drivers of cars watch out for bikes. Seeing as how they have more to loose...

Here's what i say.
If you own a bike and dont ride it like this:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JcE_fXgMtrs
This:

Or this:

You're a ------- ******. Hands down. ---- road bikes. ---- fixed gear. ---- those delivery guys.
Fact.
I've been doing this ---- for going on 14 years now. No, i'm not pro. No i dont compete. No, i'm not a douche to motorists (car weighs more than a bike. That's just life, or the end of it if you think you own the road). I just ride my free skateparks, trails and street spots with my friends.

Re: Bike riders in the street
Road bikes > you. I rode BMX for awhile, but you can't ride a bmx bike 30 miles. I agree that fixed gear is gay, the whole bike currier thing is homosexual, but there's nothing wrong with road bikes. I don't race or ware spandex or any of that bullshit, but there's nothing wrong with going and riding with a couple friends on a day off :1

I don't care what the law says if you ride on the street cause you want to "abide by the law" when there is an open sidewalk then yeah your gonna get fucked with and for good reason.
I don't HAVE to hold a door open when you are walking up to it, I do it cause im a decent human being not cause i have to. Same applies.
If i followed all state laws then i would have to honk at each car i passed, it would be illegal to tickle women and if your not married you would never get laid. ever.

Also, a lot of BS laws get passed just by being attached to other "important" bills.
