Click on the Tech Projects link to your left. There is a good writeup in there specifically about what you want to do.

Are they carbs or throttle bodies?

yeah carbs or throttle bodys.. maybe you shouldent be putting them on if your asking if vtec will work im sure if you put carbs on your ecu will wonder wtf is up with fuel presure why you dont have fuel injectors hooked up, etc...

Your gonna have to run a stand alone basically just for ignition since you won't need anything for fuel management with a carb'd setup. As for vtec it's gonna be a tuff one since usually once vtec kicks on your ecu will usually throw in more fuel. You'd have to go with a msd setup with the RPM swith. Even still how would you get the extra fuel with the carb'd for once it's activated? If you got some cash then go with some toda vtec killer cams setup or I think a couple US companies have them. Just go LS or CRV. carb'd b20... hmmm Good luck and let us know what you do.

yeah, i bet its fun to go though and rejet 4 carbs and adjust the needle height over and over again..

have they tryed making an air box for it? sometimes just the little amount of vaccume that it causes helps so damn much when your trying to get carbs to run right.

they wouldn't listen to me if i told them that. there all the main mechanics at a local shop. they think they know everything about cars lol. i'd say they know a good amount, they build ls-v carb's all the time. but lately they've been havin a hard time with this recent setup. ls-v carb'd with 200-300 shot of nitrous. when it is running right this little thing moves.

Man this thread is full of misinformation. You do not need a standalone to run carbs or vtec.
