Why do you think you're running PAL? It doesn't make sense because PAL/NTSC are both interlaced formats used on TV, not on PCs.

What exactly is it doing and have you updated video drivers recently.

same drivers for EVERYTHING (incl game patches) as my last HD had on them

if you've ever played with video settings on a tv and set it to the wrong country mode its like the vertical sync is way off.

Yeah, but again TV is interlaced. PAL has a few more horizontal lines than NTSC, so when NTSC tries to display it, the "extra" lines get displayed the next frame and it looks like the picture is scrolling. It's not the same for PC because everything is progressive scan and universal.

What exactly is it doing?

Is it only during movement that it does that or all the time even on a still image?

that's not entirely true. alot of video signals from a PC are interlaced. When you use a second output most of your video cards up through current mid-range cards. They max that out as a 1080i signal. Not 1080p or higher.

What are you trying to do output it to a TV?

Yeah, when he's trying to output to a non-hdtv it will be interlaced because that's how non-hdtv's display.

Any output to a monitor is going to be progressive, and I think (hope) he would have mentioned if he was outputting to a TV. If he sending it to a TV that would make sense.

i'm not sending it to a tv, it just LOOKS like i'm doing so.

if i still had zilisoft i'd take a video from desktop to the FIRST game displayed screen (intro video) and the game menu itself. it's a pain in the ------- ass trying to figure it out

So when are you going to give a decent description of what's going on? When does it do it? What exactly does it do? Is it only during gameplay or also during the menus? Is it only during movement or also when still?

Re: battlefield 2142 video issues

i told you.

from the first screen the game plays (the ea games intro movie to the game menu itself and so on) its all out of sync like a tv playing PAL thats NTSC, or vice versa. it doesn't get any better and i can't make out whats going on the screen to try and play.

Is it only the initial ---- and the game plays fine or is it all fucked up? Do any other games have problems?
