You use an FMU as fuel management. You think your car is the fastest thing that has ever hit the streets. You are a black man.

How close was I?
Damn, I was going to leave this alone but since you TRIED to have a witty come back I'll help you out

ONE of my cars is a Mustang G. T.. It weighs right at 3450 and some change. I think last time I checked for mileage it got 17 city and 24 Highway (as long as I kept me foot off the loud pedal)
It has a built bottom end (Decent internals but stock block so I'm pretty much living on borrowed time with anything past 525 RWHP which is about 600 crank), AFR 165 heads, 1.6 RR, TFS Stage 1 cam, EdleBrock RPM Intake, Low Z 55# injectors never owned an FMU in my life, Pro-M meter, FMS 65mm Throttle Body, Jamex springs, BBK CC plates, XTC Boxer Upper and Lower control arms, Poly bushing on/in everything, FMS Sub Frames, Lake DriveShaft Loop, T-5Z with steel bearing, UPR short throw and an 8.8 out back with 3.55 FMS gears.
On the turbo kit, I run a single Holset H1C 19CM housing with a HX40 compressor side. The twin kit was built and sold well over 18 months ago (too lazy to update my site)
It made damn good power but using the smaller housings (.48/.42's) caused too much boost down low (torque) and made it hard on drivetrain parts especially traction devices. If I were more willing to drop a dedicated drag suspension under the thing the twins would be sweet. The Single comes on smooth as butter and pulls clean to redline. Alot easier on the car parts and easier to get out the hole.
Not the fastest thing to hit the streets in Houston........---- not even close.
Too many LOW 10 second LS1's and Blown Fox Body Mustangs (9 second cars frequent the race spots quite often) but I hold my own quite well (A chase is a race and if I get you out the hole with a big enoguh jump, hard to catch up to the stomp pulling power of a turbocharged 302 with a decent suspension under it).
Oh Yeah, I'm a Darkie (though as far as darkies go, I'm actually pretty light )

So hey, you got two right (I own a Mustang and I'm a Black Male) Kudos to ya

I've only seen the blaupunkt head units that came dealership installed on some euro cars, not like I'm going to run out and buy them, but at the time, I picked one up for dirt cheap and I was very impressed as to how it held up (even tho it died trying to push subs). I can't speak for the rest of the lineup, and the headunits I have seen are the pre-RCA output kind, but pricing on them is pretty low.. I will stay clear from them now. I know how the line noise can be a mother ******, many chevys have line noise with their factory radios rolling off the dealership floor (mostly trucks I've been in this have had this problem.. mid 90s z71's). Most of you definately have a cleaner setup them me, I was like 17 at the time.. what the ---- did I know about fiberglass.

Speaking of fiberglass, yeah it's great stuff, would love to do a custom enclosure with it (just avoid breathing the dust particles). I have now worked with lots of fiberglass, boat & auto uses. If anyone has a link to the DIY fiberglass box, please post.

In defense to use wood-using people, this is HMT, and most of us aren't rich (or have rich parents, or have a definate career path for that matter). I used wood cause that's what I could afford, and that was at my skill level at that point in time - gives some rear traction for you people with RWD cars that like to peel out in the rain (like my boomin volvo). 2nd though, I hated the wood box, had no grocery room.. made the rear sag too much. Good thing I'm out of the audio phase

Before people start the bashing of the ford vehicles, I would like to point out that the ford 9" rear end is the best for any rwd custom budget build.. not like I'm going to throw away my dana 44 axles for it, but it beats spending top dollar for something like strange gears (the company).

Damn, 4 paragraphs this time; maybe I could have consolidated some words, oh well.

You're not going to make many friends around here with your cocky sarcasm....fast car or not. So if you insist on continuing with your superiority issues, take your ---- elsewhere.

Kyle, if I was you, I would focus on your motor or just settle for a simple 1 sub + amp combo for now. It's fun to build a loud stereo, but I think you'll be more satisfied with a faster car.

Oh, and btw, the difference in good and bad brands of car audio usually is based on whether they manufacture their own products or whether they contract that out to a seperate manufacturer.

Every year I go to the Consumer Electronics Show in Vegas I see these booths with Korean or Thai companies that will manufacture stereo equipment for you if you want to start your own company. All you have to do is have the money to invest and you can start Kyle brand subs and amps, that are made by the same manufacturer as the other cheapie brands. However, Sony is a good example of an exception to this rule.

Geez Alex, you need to lighten up. Nobody was "attacking" you, nobody was picking on you, nobody really cares. Why are you so touchy, princess? You're not going to claim I'm being prejudice are you? Did my comment hurt you that bad? Why is it ok for you to do it, but not me?
To avoid any future thread jacking, I'll apologize.....I'm sorry sweetheart.

first of all, thanks for all the good advice from everyone in here. secondly, I don't mind the thread hijacking, I've been known to hijack threads myself and I think that they should go wherever we take them. thirdly, every sub that I've ever picked up in my life seemed to be over 10 lbs, so when doc questions somebody saying that 3 subs and a fiberglass box weighs 37 lbs, he's in the right. alex, I think you're an overly cocky -------, you've done nothing but talk ---- about imports in any post of yours I've seen and you think that your mustang and your lifestyle are the best ---- to hit the streets since pants with pockets. I'm sure that if we met in person I'd have no problem with you, but your internet courage pisses me off. Don't think I'm being racist though, I would say the same ---- to anyone.

I'm definetely leaning toward the single sub with an amp system, if I even get one.

Kyle,

Regardless of your personal opinions towards Alex, he still has contributed to your thread, we wouldn't have gone on this fiberglass kick if he didn't start in on it. We all shouldn't just turn on one person and get him to leave (or ban him) just cause he is an import hater.

I personally find his posts to be a benefit to the board - Of course giving props for his composition ability. Looking past thinking that mustangs and bling rims are the absolute ----, he is older (possibly more experienced) then many of us and shouldn't be chased off.

Alex - Try and not throw stones around here, especially towards mods.

actually I suggested fiberglass before alex, he just helped me out with some pictures and ideas. I had no problem with alex until he started talking ----.

now that we're all done being bitches, does anyone have any suggestions on alternators? I know those ******* hate systems, what brand should I get and how much power or whatever they're rated in? alex, maybe you could tell us how you put that enclosure together? what did you use to support the fiberglass? I couldn't just throw it on the floor and have it go in the right places.
