I disagree to a point. Yes, being martial arts, they are art forms, but also sciences. Mostly manipulating the anatomy of the human body and exploiting weaknesses. Major martial arts are still around due to their effects in history. With mastery of a martial art you can do act well in most situations, assuming they are not completely out of your control. The remaining martial arts today have been well refined through history and can be applied to almost any situation you need them be. Thats with the exception of the money making places like Tea Kwon Do Plus and what not. Its mostly about finding a reputable teacher that is well versed in what he or she teaches.

Aikido is a martial art and a philosiphy, one in the same. Use your enemy's force against him. Its based to Aikijujitsu, and sword techniques for joint locking combos that, if done right, cannot be resisted.

Krav Maga is something Id like to learn, but its doubtlful that I can learn it anywhere around here.
