Default Back from knee surgery and got a semi-new car over the weekend.

'sup everyone. back to work today after having knee surgery last Tues. That sucked. I'm now wearing a massive leg brace that prevents me from driving anything. And I have to wear it for another 5 weeks.

Although on a positive note, we finally got rid of my wife's ridiculous subaru wagon with 150k miles on it. and got a car I can actually respect.

don't have any pictures of the car we actually got, but it's bone stock so it looks just like this one:

It's a pretty nice car, it's only got 61k miles on it, an '03. Kinda slow stock, I'm definitely going to have to do some things to it.

I'd like to get it somewhere around 250-275 whp.

lemme know whatcha think.

yes they are.....looking good, of course I like it. Too bad I'm selling mine, you should have purchased mine with all the parts on it already .

Maybe you want some parts.... ...

Anyhow looks good, first of all do your exhaust, Up-pipe- downpipe and catback, then do your ECU. You will be happy, for little money. You can be putting down aroun 230whp with those things.

I was hoping you'd reply to this thread, What are your recommendations as far as who to go to for parts? I've never actually looked into stuff for wrx's before so I don't know who's the best price for performance.

as far as those mods you mentioned- about how much total would I be looking at to get those done?

My bad the work computer blocks pics from personal storage sites . Hope your knee feels better so you can get back out there on the road.

I paid $350 plus shipping for my exhaust..brand new ebay special, but it was a brand name, Top Speed Performance based in texas. Looks and sounds like the HKS Hi-power exhaust. An Up-Pipe is around $150, I think I have my old one, Helix brand, in the house. I went with a full turbo manifold.

The tricky part is the Engine Management, you can go the cheap route, COBB accesport, but it is not tuneable. It's a base map. Or you can go with their streettuner, I think it's the name, and that you can change. You are looking at around $1000 here. Or go with Turbo XS' UTEC. That's what I have. it's a piggyback to the factory ECU but completely tuneable. I got mine used for $700. I like it, can't see anything wrong with it, but some people have different ideas.

There's a few other options with the Subaru, AEM, Greddy, ECUTek, etc, etc. But the cheaper ones are COBB and UTEC.

Go to http://www.wrxfanatics.com/ good simple site with tons of help and writeups. Be warned though, a lot of those kids are rich highschool white boys that don't know a wrench from a hammer. They pay for everything and have that I better take it to a shop than DIY it mentallity. I had a few discussions with some of them. They are always like "you better take it to a shop" attitude.

Looks good

also, if you ever happen to do anything, please change out your fuel rails, and get a bigger fuel pump. cyl#3 goes lean even from factory.

my bro has an 02 wrx. he has a front mount, a cobb tuning access port with the street tuner ( just a usb dongle and software ). modified wrx injectors ( pm me if you ever want to know how they are done. very easy modification. ) upgraded fuel rails and lines. new flyweheel, and a pe1818 turbo charger.

neted us 320 whp on the dyno. daily driven. o btw, the tranbsmition is starting to get noisy. lol.

all work was done by me. including engine installs and tuning. also the access port is dyno proven to make horsepower. if you dont wanna mess with tuning, it allows you to upload maps to your ecu from cobb, or someone else who has made maps.
