Back in the Domestic world

I havn't had a V8 or a domestic since my first couple cars. Oldsmobiles.

Picked this up on Sunday for $800. This is my new winter driver. Little rough on gas, but it is nice to just run ---- over rather than wondering if it will tear your car apart.

Had to de-rice the thing already. Scraped off some vinyls on the back window. The purple tint is going. There was a white grill insert and white light covers on it too. Damn punk kids.

1988 Chevy 1500, 5.7L V8, 2wd :-\

My E350 is over here waiting for you beeitch.

The truck is nice though. I was surprised at how much I like the stripped down nature of it. It's 100% and 0% yuppie bullshit.

Damn $800? that thing looks pretty cool. Not a truck guy myself but I'd pimp it if you paid for gas.

Re: Back in the Domestic world

Sweet ----, other than the 2WD. You can still smash through piles of snow and various other things though which will make your winter driving experience 10x better ;)

How many miles? ;) What year is it also? I had a tank of a car as a second car, 1985 Chevy Caprice, 305 4barrel th700r4, 168k miles, $500. Man that thing was a beast. It'd be a heck of a nice winter beater now :-\

It is a 1988. It has 151K on it. Newer trans though. Had all the vehicle history. It was a Florida truck up til about 3 years ago. So it isn't too bad for rust. Just the wheel wells on the bed, but the cab end is great.

HondaTuner 12-08-2005 10:00 PM

Re: Back in the Domestic world

Not a bad deal at all. The caprice had no rust, he repaired the rear doors though since I guess tehy had rust and the one front fender was starting to rust but it was only surface, and I sold that ---- for $100 more than I paid for it :P.... then gas went up to $4 a gallon. lol :o That bitch cost me $65 to fill up at $1.70/gallon, I feel bad for the woman who bought it :l

Cray91 12-09-2005 12:58 AM

Re: Back in the Domestic world

Havn't filled this one all thea way yet. I think it is a 30gal tank.

It wasn't empty...I put in $50 of gas...and it wasn't full :P

Re: Back in the Domestic world

Only 350 I had was in my olds, and it was tired. My buddy said this one was lacking some power.

Another friend has some heads that I can have. He can cut the valves and seats at his work on the old ones then just do a swap. said that should help a bunch.

All my friends are huge domestic guys, so they are all amped that they can finally relate to my car.

Re: Back in the Domestic world

lift the bitch, regear it and rebuild the motor with some bumped compression and a good cam. :y you could hold about 400hp safely on that motor. hell if your felling good boost it, itd probably help the gas mileage.

Re: Back in the Domestic world

The parking lot at the super rink is huge. That would make for some nice sliding.

There will be none of that. Just my own hauling purposes. Most of my friends have trucks.
