How To Speed Up Firefox

Here's something for broadband people that will really speed Firefox up:

1.Type "about:config" into the address bar and hit return. Scroll down and look for the following entries:

network.http.pipelining
network.http.proxy.pipelining
network.http.pipelining.maxrequests

Normally the browser will make one request to a web page at a time. When you enable pipelining it will make several at once, which really speeds up page loading.

2. Alter the entries as follows:

Set "network.http.pipelining" to "true"

Set "network.http.proxy.pipelining" to "true"

Set "network.http.pipelining.maxrequests" to some number like 30. This means it will make 30 requests at once.

3. Lastly right-click anywhere and select New-> Integer. Name it "nglayout.initialpaint.delay" and set its value to "0". This value is the amount of time the browser waits before it acts on information it recieves.

If you're using a broadband connection you'll load pages MUCH faster now!

after you are done ofcoures completely shutdown fire fox and vualla!!

i set the sumber from 40 to 100 and its shoot mang.

when i first got firefox i really didnt notice a difference between it and IE. but now its hella fast

oh btw firefox is a web browser that linux users made that
is superior to all else

look it up especially if you have broadband :P

i was like... DAMN!!! cus i used to use conquror, since firefox was slow, but this mod made it fly l ike lil wyte on an oxy overdose!

Holy ----. I'm on cable and after doing that ---- Firefox kicks ass. I was ready to switch back to IE because it was so ------- slow, but holy ----, this actually worked. :D

I can actually click on porn posts now without having to wait 5 minutes to view them! :D

lol. this is probobly one of the best things for internet users to happen. they got a good broser, but one thats hella slow, but it was sped up by this trick and it now flies!

Is this something loaded with Spyware or am I going to have to look at new menus and stuff. I like my computer the way it is, it would be nice if it was faster but I don't want more toolbars or anything gay like that

this has no spyware and is almost impossible to get spyware through websites when using firefox, and the menus are almost exactly the same as ie

It was faster than IE before I re-set it, but now :o

And no FF is not filled w/spyware, it doesn't come w/any thing else other than the browser. Its build on netscapes old platform and is more stable and less security loop holes than IE.

I have cable and I thought that it was fast but with this it is almost instant. I have netscape and it works for it also. Holy ---- kain. Thats like a +5 to you.

I changed to firefox because IE jacked my homepage about 7 years ago and I was tired of the spyware bullshit. The look is slightly different, but after a couple weeks I'm used to it and it's great. Cray even showed me how to make a toolbar that has all of my favorite sites, so I don't ever have to type them in again. I'm diggin it.
Since I just got to California, I'm gonna have to wait till I get back to try midgets new trick. I'll let you know. ;)
