Anyone work at a car dealership? Need help
I am buying an 05 S2000. I special ordered it, and it came in a month early. Like, today. I don't want to buy it yet. I wanted it at the end of December. I already put a $500 deposit on it. They're trying to tell me, that because they traded another dealership for the car, they only have a limited time to sell it. There are no incentives on the car that I know of. The only thing I don't want is for them to sell the car out from under me; I would be screwed. Does anybody know if they are full of ----, or are they really penalized for holding on to the car for too long?

I was a car salesman in my days before the military.
they are simply tryin to meet there quotas before the end of the month. I would be 99.9% sure of that.
once they do a "dealer trade" its just the same as if i were to trade you cars.
they could put it on the lot if thats what they want to do...but if you put a deposit on the car, and if you told them you didnt want the car till the end of next month, they should hold it for you. IMO
i would bet money though that they are just tryin to meet a quota.

the dealerships have loans that they use to buy their cars. The interest on the loans are rediculously high, that's why you see dealerships that have these 'blowout' sales. I think it was Merecedes' that for each day a new car was on the lot, it would cost them $300.oo. So like frank said, if they don't meet a quota, they get nicely fucked.

I also think if you guys had an agreement for the car to be 'delivered' at a specific date (end of december) that they should be obligated to uphold their end of the deal. That's the point of the deposit, you put it down to get the car at a specific time, they take it to hold the car for you until that time.
