Yeah, but they aren't worth much until, as I said, you redo every machining tolerance in the entire engine. Just look at water pump mounting surfaces... lol.

Show me a single stock SBC (or LT1) that makes over 400 whp without shitting #7 and #8 pistons due to incorrect factory tolerances.

Uh what about the water pump mounting surfaces?

The design is old and the process to cast the blocks is ancient. I have heard of core shift causing more reliability problems than the factory machining itself.

Regardless the platform itself is unarguably sucessful. I guess the same could be said about the windsor engines as well though. :-\

RS you're a fucktard. I am not saying that they are ---- because they were made in the 60s. If I am not mistaken the first SBC came out in 1955 as the 265. All I am saying is that they are bound to have flaws since GM was humping pretty much the same tooling for the past 50 years.
