anyone know anything about mustangs?

we have an 04 mustang GT we are wanting to boost...but where would we get vacuum sources from? it only has one source of vacuum and it has a hard line comming off of it...in order to change the hardlines i have to remove the upper intake...it dosent have a vacuum powerd brake booster either, it has "hydraboost" uses the powersteering pump instead
and no fuel pressure regulator it has a returnless system. it uses a sensor on the fuel rail to tell the ecu what teh pressure is and the pumps are variable speed...any other way i can get vac. source?

Re: anyone know anything about mustangs?

Cut a 4 inch hole in your intake manifold and t it off lol. No really you should just cut the hard line and put a t fitting inbetween the 2 ends

sbc is the most used, most popular, and most successfull engine platform ever made.

I just finished the downpipes and wastegate recircs on my buddy Mike's twin turbo SBC. It made 1100hp on the engine dyno and it was restricted due to small exhaust housing. The Camaro should go 8's through the mufflers.

Yeah, but they aren't worth much until, as I said, you redo every machining tolerance in the entire engine. Just look at water pump mounting surfaces... lol.

Show me a single stock SBC (or LT1) that makes over 400 whp without shitting #7 and #8 pistons due to incorrect factory tolerances.

Uh what about the water pump mounting surfaces?

The design is old and the process to cast the blocks is ancient. I have heard of core shift causing more reliability problems than the factory machining itself.

Regardless the platform itself is unarguably sucessful. I guess the same could be said about the windsor engines as well though. :-\

RS you're a fucktard. I am not saying that they are ---- because they were made in the 60s. If I am not mistaken the first SBC came out in 1955 as the 265. All I am saying is that they are bound to have flaws since GM was humping pretty much the same tooling for the past 50 years.

Go gargle some whale penis. :-*

You're good with the web design, mediocre with the sarcasm, and pathetic thinking that a common as dirt junkyard turbo setup on a 5.0 makes you an Authority.

So, keep the zingers coming! Short of ridding HMT of the spambot menace, it's really all you have to offer. ::)

coming from the guy who compares blocks cast in iron in 1964 and machined by hand to blocks cast in aluminum in 1997 and machined by robots

oo, and all your friends cars make you an authority too ;)

I did nothing of the sort. I merely elaborated on the incomplete statement that SBC were a good platform... ever since SBC were brand new, machinists have found the need to bring every last single machined surface into a tighter tolerance before they could begin to extract any real power out of them, and most of this has taken place on human controlled machining equipment. At no time where they compared to robot-machined aluminum except in your illogical mind.

Like I said, mediocre zingers.
