Anyone ever use ZEX nitrous?
 

I wasn't quite sure this would be considered forced induction, but it's a technical question about the Zex kit. Today my brother installed the kit in his Isuzu Rodeo (I know, I know... but hey, would you expect it?) and he programmed the box according to the instructions etc. When "test" time came and he was at full throttle, when the nitrous is activated, we feel the car gaining power and hear the nitrous control box (purple solenoid box) clicking while he's spraying. Is that normal or should we not be hearing anything? If anyone's got some experience with these kits, just let me know if you've noticed the same thing. Hah, pics will be up soon of this thing. We'll work on a video tomorrow.

lol thats ok Raf, just thought I'd check with everyone here at HMT because I know some of you have used the bottle in the past.
As for it being fast... I wasn't overly impressed with it. You can feel the nitrous kick in, but he's only running a 65shot right now because we honestly have no idea what these 3.2liter V6's will handle. More than likely he'll switch to bigger jets tomorrow.

yes you can hear it. that sound is the solenoids opening.

Ok cool. Thanks RENR, I wasn't sure if they should be clicking constantly like that or just an on-off type click. But ah well, it works ;)

no, it shouldnt be clicking over and over, just one click when you hit full throttle, and one when you let off, mine clicked over and over, and it was the tps connection. it cant be good for it too keep clicking on and off on and off.

It should only click once when acticated or the solenoid could burn out ahead of its time but the zex has that computer box thingy so it might be diffrenent all ive used is nx.

when i ran the zex kit you could hear the solinoid click and then youd hear the nitrous hissing through the lines...

Hmmm, well damn... I knew it should click once while injecting nitrous, and once when you let off, but this is clicking constantly while spraying. We don't actually have it hooked up to a TPS switch due to the lack of information on the web about Isuzu Rodeo's, but we'll go out and pick up a service manual today and figure this thing out.
Right now it's just hooked up to a simple pushbutton style switch. I'll keep you all informed. Actually we'll be stepping it up to a 75 shot today 8)
