Anyone ever had problems with thedropshop?

Just curious. I've heard lots of good things about them, but I sent them $175 for the Uberchip on Sunday, and I haven't gotten a confirmation or email or anything back. I even emailed him yesterday morning with nothing. Just curious. I'm sure it's nothing, but I'm still a little uneasy, ya know?

There have been some similar posts on http://resource.crx.org/index.php it seems he claims he is backlogged and trying to get caught up with orders... don't know what to tell you, but good luck.

If you ask me that's just bad business. Don't have something for sale if you don't have it ready to ship or at least let people know what is going on and that it will take longer than normal.

Re:Anyone ever had problems with thedropshop?

Let me tell you something about that guy.. he does great work, and supposivly is a nice guy, and probably wont cheat you out of your money. But from my observations throughout this year, he has taking way to long to ship items, and get things done. He is horrible with emails, and gets way over his head at times. There was a huge group buy on Honda-tech about 8 months ago that went to complete ----, that almost ruined his name. Supposivly he was doing a shop change at that time which made things difficult.

Personally, I would never deal with the guy since he has always rubbed me the wrong way :-\

I talk to Jon daily.. He is young.. he runs the shop like a young guy.. I really do beleive he gets into something and probably just forgets to send stuff out. Try to hit him up on aim.. Also don't send bitchy or mean messages.. That will get you no where and he WILL hold your stuff and money for a long time before finally sending it. At that point he normally give a full refund and the parts.. But you just waited six months to get it.. The people who didn't act like asses on HT got thier stuff pretty fast. Some are still waiting. Most of them were on the Ban uberteg bandwagon. :(

I finally got ahold of him. He said he was on vacation. I don't mind, I just wish he would have had something on the site to let us know. Oh well.

Yeah, I got ahold of him too. His reply was:

$100
special order

This is the answer I get from a business owner? WTF? He could at least act like he wants my business. I don't even know who the ---- I'm talking to.

Yeah, it's pretty discouraging. Nothing like hurting the Uberchip cause some more. I hate Hondata now, but dammit, I may HAVE to get it again.

How did you pay Dropshop?

If he hasn't sent you a serial number or the software, AND you have a paypal reciept you can email me or some real proof of payment (picture of MO, etc) I can expedite things as I have access to the Uberchip serial generator + works.

And Jon does good work, but he's organisationally clusterfucked. That's not a criticism, but the truth - I have the *exact* same problem. I just stumbled across an unopened envelope with a MO for an ECU a guy sent me two friggin weeks ago.

civicunrest--call the shop sometime this week and ask for Ashish(thats me). ill try and help you to find out what is the deal with your order. when people call for jon, hes usually tied up with a car and can't make it to the phone.

Re:Anyone ever had problems with thedropshop?

Amallick, I appricate your concern, but I have a few concerns of my own.

1.) Accord to the forums that www.thedropshop.tv directed me to, you no longer need to connect to the internet to use uberdata. However, when I went to the dyno yesterday (and spent $60 for no reason), it wouldn't let me access my maps because it could not connect to the internet. Strike one.

2.) No map I try to burn to a chip will work, due to checksum errors. My hondata maps used to burn just fine. If I run a fill on my programmer software to get a correct checksum, it still will not run. Strike two.

3.) I paid for the software and didn't hear a word back for nearly a week. I was then sent a snide email back saying "doode, I was on vacation". I understand that, but wouldn't you be a bit concerned if you sent someone $175 and didn't hear a word back? Strike Three.

I'm sorry, but I hope this isn't the way your buisness is run. So far, I've spent $235, and I'm no further ahead. I've already emailed a request for a refund. This truely isn't helping the Uberchip cause, because it just lost one user.

civicunrest- I agree with your concerns, I would feel the same way. If I had paid for a product and it turned out this way, I would be disapointed too. I can't speak for jon, all I can do is try to help.

Re:Anyone ever had problems with thedropshop?

ON the order page

"ALL VERSIONS OF ERM WILL REQUIRE INTERNET ACCESS AND A SERIAL NUMBER FROM ME.
this is to prevent software piracy. IE: you cant just send erm to a friend to use because we WILL know and shut your version off. Sorry that it has to be this way but it is our time and efforts that created this and we refuse to be ripped off"

the problems burning bins i have no idea why its like that
my versions work flawlessly here and at the shop
ill check into that checksum problem for you
and see if i cannot fix it

Also there is a new ERM editor coming out very soon
its much easier to use and has alot nicer features and options we will do our best to fix any bugs and update all people w ERM with the new software

and further more you have dsl soooo what www.netzero.com is free
all u need to do is sign up and get like 10 hours free
which you can use for dyno time. and if u DONT have a modem in your lap top feel free to email me and ill send you one
so u can use it and tune
