Anybody train Jiu Jitsu?

So i started Jits about a month ago and it's going awesome. I have been grappling for the last few years.. so I thought i'd have an advantage. It's full gi, and its alot different than what I expected. It's alot more challenging for one. I had no idea how ------- easy it is for someone to break your guard just by prying their elbows into the insides of your legs. anyway, i'm a little discouraged because a guy 300lbs (i'm 140) and with 5 years experience worked me over the other night.. and it being the first night my instructor let us roll, I was kind of hoping I could have shown him what I knew. My plan backfired because of the size and strength of this guy and I just got tapped out all night by him.. a guy 205lbs and my instructor. Any of you guys ever get shown up by guys who really knew what they were doing the first time u rolled in Jits class? ALso the gi collar chokes get old as ---- when ur trying to work something and then they just slap that ---- on u out of the blue.

I spent from 9 to 20 boxing weekly. I win fights the old fashion way. Have 3 chipped teeth and my back molar was just pulled from damage from years of fighting.

props, boxing is alot more difficult than people realize. It takes years to learn. the movements, footwork, and angles take years to perfect. "Lead with speed, follow with power" is something I try to remember everytime i box, because I have a bad habit of just throwing my hands with everything i've got and not worry about speed.

My instructor is currently in the process of getting Chris Lytle to come down from Indianapolis to do a standup seminar for us, and Jake O'Brien to do a wrestling seminar.

Ya I had to stop after some really bad issues with my right arm/hand. Basically my hand wouldnt stop shaking and couldnt even take notes in college. Boxing imo is the purest form of fighting its just loss steam since mayweather bowed out. No real greats in the sport at the moment. All the guys who claim to be boxers in mma make me look good which isnt saying much. My brother really had a shot of doing well in boxing but drug addiction killed it. I only took a knee twice in my whole life boxing he did it both times.

He could of been a great fighter never lost an amauter fight

It sucks living where I live. Here in BFE GA there isn't ---- like that around. I would love to get into MMA, boxing or anything.

Patients , position over submission. Training with big guys helps in the long run. At a point it will come down to who gets tired first and makes a mistake.

I do jits, no gi though. Some prefer no gi, some prefer with gi. I personally prefer no gi because with a gi so much can be nulified by just grabbing the other guy's gi. In no gi you have to flow more like water. btw I did gi jits in high school a little bit. I kinda wish we had some big guys (250+) in our club so we could work against the big guys.

I've got my own style. I just throw sand in peoples eyes, stomp their toes, give them a wedgie and then push them over and run the other way. So far I'm 0-0. I'm not a fighter, I'm a lover. 8) Bow chicka wow wow.
