Looking into buying one and have no idea where to start. I have been playing bass since I was 20 so Im subpar

This is HMT Chris. Make a washtub bass. Find washbin, broom handle and a piece of rope. You'd be surprised that it can actually sound pretty damn good and cool.

i have always wanted to try a stand-up bass. i have a fretless bass and when i play on a regular basis, i can play that so i would assume the stand-up is sorta similar. me and the woman bought a cello, i thought it would be easier than it is, but its pretty tough

Im willing too learn. Music for me I know is something I will continue to play/enjoy to the fullest till the day I die so if it takes me till Im an old man to get down on it Im cool with that. |

Do you play with your pinky? The upright is cool especially if you're into playing blues/jazz.
I'd say go to your local school and see if they're selling any of their old ones. |
