Re: Any Of You ******* Quit Smoking? (cigarettes)
Yea the main thing is you actually have to WANT to quit, most people try to stop smoking because they know they should, not because the really want to, or otherwise it wouldn't be that hard. The way I quit was pretty much what your trying, basically wanting to start excercising and eating healthy except I did it *** backwards and did all that ---- while i was still smoking, the first time I got on the treadmill i felt like i was dying of ------- pnumonia or something and vowed I would never smoke one of those god damn things again.
I Have never smoked since and never had any cravings or all the usual bullshit, so just take a deep breath and tell youself that " ok, I am done with this" and move on, stop ------- freaking out and worrying about ------- up and getting all pissed, just move on. Also helps alot if you start doing something constructive instead of sitting around your house or whatever, go for a run, ride a bike, fix something, anything to get you out and make you feel better about your decision.
it was ALOT harder for me to stop drinking, but pretty much the same deal as said above, been sober and smoke free since march

Yeah one definitely has to want to quit to be successful. I'm tired of it. I used to enjoy it, but now it just makes me feel like ---- and feel like a moron for polluting my body so much. It didn't help that my buddy kept smoking around me today either. What an -------. ****** couldn't even wait until I wasn't around. He's lucky I had my gum or I'd have gone buck wild on him haha. I can't wait till 2 weeks have gone by and I can put this all behind me and begin training again. Bottom line is that quitting smoking is hard to do; but if you're not a mental midget you can overcome it.

Been about 28hrs since I had my last smoke , and it feels like my head wants to explode haha. I reckon quitting smoking comes with a buzz of its own , light headed etc
But all jokes aside , this ---- aint easy I'm doing it cold turkey.
As mentioned its 95% in the mind , the other 5% can be beaten!
I'm taking the dog for another walk now (third time today) to get my mind cleared up.

just quit and dont think abotu it, start a project to work on everyday or do something that will consume yoru free time so you have less time sitting around thinking abotu it. and keep your hands and mouth busy with bottles of water and gum. 3 weeks later no prob.
Smoked for 10 years same as you bout 1/2 to a pack a day on average and kicked it cold turkey. Cigs aint ----
and if you are having a hard time keepign your anger in check puff a bowl every now and then or just a few hits. smooth you right out.

I used the patch for 3 weeks....it was way strong. It gives you some AWESOME dreams though. They tell you on the label. Worked for me.....sept 9 of 06 was my last one. Keep it up....the first weeks are the worse. And....don't go getting drunk...it gets worse if you do.

Take zyban for the urge to smoke, and take nicorette MINTS to keep your body from going jittery. The mints are expensive, but they last for 30 minutes, keeping your mouth busy and keeping your body from the anxiety of not having nicotine.
