Any suggestions?

Here's my story...

I ordered 4" lift spindles for my truck and 35" tires. The tires will be here Thursday and the spindles will be here Monday. My current tires are 33's and are pretty much shot. I'm going out of town next weekend and I NEED the 35's on the truck to make the trip.

My problem....

I was dicking around under the truck today and noticed a name brand imprinted on my "stock" spindles....."FABTECH". ??? ----, god damn it, ---- ---- god damn, I already have 3" lift spindles on my truck. ::) :3 So my new spindles are only going to give me a 1" lift in the front which isn't exactly going to clear 35" tires. Not only that, I really need to uncrank my torsions at least an inch to fix my shitty steering angles so I can get a proper alignment and not eat up my brand new tires. So if I put the 4" spindles on and uncrank the torsions 1" I'll be right back where I started which won't even be close to clearing 35" tires.

My solution.....

Ok, so I don't really have a solution yet. :-\ I found a 3" body lift for a very good price, but body lifts are gayer than spandex. A 3" body lift will clear my 35" tires though. :-\

Any suggestions?

Oh yeah, while I was ------- around under the truck today I found out what happened that night I got drunk, fell off the roof and hit an unknown object. The frame on my truck is all fucked up where the body bolts to it. I ------- smashed something hard to bend that ----. :-X I wonder WTF it was? ??? :-\

Re: Any suggestions?

solution= dont have a big lifted truck for a daily driver ;) And dont Own a GM product they have nothing but problems with steering.

Re: Any suggestions?

Body lifts are def gay but what about a 1" or 2" just enough so you can clear the tires or get some bushwacker type flares that will give you more room to clear tires. The ones that actually give more tire clearance requiring trimming sheet metal which I imagine you might not be comfortable with as your truck is pretty new.

I sold the stock rims and tires as soon as I got the new rims and tires. :-\

They sell kits to fix all that ----, but they aren't cheap. :-\ Other than the steering this truck is ------- awesome and I wouldn't trade it for any other vehicle.

1-2" might not be enough to clear. Fender flares are gayer than body lifts, but those won't even fix my problem because the tires will rub on the lower part of the inside fender and the lower part of the front bumper and valance. I already had to trim the front valance a bit.

Cancel your order and go bigger?
what was so hard about that?

Re: Any suggestions?

put a dana 60 under the front a t-case and 4 link setup with 14 inch travel king coil over shocks. 35's and gm's steering will own your ass in parts. ---- I might as well put some swampers on my wagovan :P

---- them coming out the back. Have them come straight out the hood, who needs mufflers. Sad thing is theres quite a few trucks in South Jersey like this.

Uh, yeah, that's going to be a bit rough since they are both paid for and in transit, hence why the spindles will be here Monday and the tires will be here Thursday. ::) Thanks for the wonderful advise though. :1

I think I might be "ok" now. I broke out the handy dandy sawzall along with my BFG and did a little modifying to the inner fenderwell. :6 The plastic fender liner will cover all of my work so you can't even tell I did anything. :y It's still going to be a tight fit, but I guess I'll have to live with not being able to turn like a normal vehicle. :-\

why would you need to turn

with 35" tires, just run ---- over >:D

Re: Any suggestions?

Actually, 35's aren't really that big. I'd say they're just a practical size for daily driving and off-roading. If I would have known all this before I probably would have ordered 33's, but I know I would have been kicking myself in the ass. :-\

No springs in my truck. The HD's have torsions. I already have them cranked, but they need to come down a bit so I can get an alignment.

It already sucks the way it is. Being a crew cab it's long as hell. Parking lots out here weren't made for trucks like this. I have to park way the ---- out in the middle of nothing because I can't get in tight spcaes. :-\

44's are ridiculous. Have fun balancing those fuckers and good luck with your steering system. Good thing you have a solid front axle. :P

Re: Any suggestions?

you could always make it a havasu prerunner and put some glass on it. :P a lil expensive but itll help clear 35's. :-\

Nice and gay like the rest of the wanna be trucks here with 100% stock suspension and unpainted/unmatching fiberglass fenders. ::) No fiberglass for my truck, although I did see a pretty badass full size Chevy all done up that looked prett sick. My truck is far too heavy to do any serious off-roading. That thing doesn't like to jump. :-\

Also, glass front fenders won't help because the tires hit on the actual body of the cab at full turn and a bit on the front valance and fenderwell cover, but I don't give a damn about that ----.

44's are big but if you balance them with the big rubber patches that go inside and then fine tune it with normal wheel wieghts your good, I am going to run agr steering assist with the hydrolic cylinder on the diff and x-over steering. Going with cut out flares so I can get away without a rediculous amount of lift like some guys run. ;) I've always had big lifted trucks, were do you think I got my name from? Its not vegus 8)
