Any east coast guys?

Im from maryland and looking for a good road race track. I'm willing to drive anywhere in the maryland, PA, west virginia, and some of virginia region. I know you west coast guys have some tracks but ive been searching like hell and cant find anything. We have tons of drag strips(3 within 15 miles of my house) but no racing courses. Another option is autocross, but ive been to local events and cant seem to get into it as much. I guess running over cones isn't as exciting as running off the track when you drive poorly. Any help?

Summit Point here in VA. Best one I've been to in our area, yes, that includes VIR.

BeaveRun Motorsports... cant think of the race track i went to with josh (samson)... was clean but their times died so no one got to race but he said its a nice track. ill try to get him to chime in.

Not the parts supplier, but yeah, Summitt Point. It's out close to WV. Beautifully prepared track surface, and racing every weekend during the season.

VIR has/had rally classes you can take. I went about 2 years ago and they had track days for porsche and BMW clubs.

Remember though VIR is probably far from you. Pa and even Mid-Ohio might be closer. I live in Richmond, Va and the drive to VIR took me into North Carolina for a minute to get back to Alton,Va where the track is. I would say at least a 3+ hour drive from MD.

Hey Birdman. I live in Hanover, PA about 45 Minutes north of Frederick. What 1/4 Mile tracks are close to you. I'd like to do some runs this summer.

Re: Any east coast guys?

Hey man. there is 75-80 which is a nice track and it is fun cause they let you run pretty much anything you want with few rules.(snowmobiles on slicks are fast as hell by the way). and there is mason dixon. Mason dixon is a BEAUTIFUL track and the place is absolutely huge. Mason dixon is furthur towards you. Its right outside of hagerstown actually. You take 40 from htown going east and you keep going a few miles and youll see it on your right, cant miss it. youll love running there. Maybe i can get a few of my boys and well meet up once i can find myself a respectable car again.

Ill be in the D.C. area next year cause ill be attended umd at c.p. campus. We should get together sometime. Know anyone in our area thats trying to sell an eg hatch for fairly cheap? I've been looking like crazy and they're all either expensive or POS's around here. Just sold the del because i need something for college. I can convince the parents that a hatch is a good college car so im going that route. But yeah, whenever i get my new ride ill come cruise with yall.

Live right outside frederick in a town called middletown(doubt youve heard it). It's an ok place. the car scene is pretty much non-existant unless you go for the frederick ricers. But its ok to go out and stomp people that think they are fast. Hell my del slow beat most of the ---- around here....and thats pretty bad

What kind of money are you working with?

BirdmanMD 01-15-2007 01:06 AM

Re: Any east coast guys?

ummm soon to be college student kind of money. haha. I could probably go as high as 3-4k on a clean one. Looking for a 92-2000(5th or 6th gen) coupe or hatch. Its gotta be clean cause my rents will have to sign off on the thing too. last time i bought a car without telling them it was a caddy and the del sol at the same time on a trailer coming home haha.

isnt that the truth, i had all kinds of rednecks in thier cavaliers and neons trying ro race all the time. i just stopped even messing with them, too much at stake to beat the hell out of some dumbestic ricers.

there are a few 240's and wrx's that are pretty quick around here though. there is also a mid-90's 200sx boosted in the area, i see him on rt340 all the time.

if you see a primered black lightning in the brunswick area dont bother fuckign with him. its just an f-150 with lightning body parts on it. i smoked his ass badly wheni know i shouldnt have if it was a real lightning. he hangs at the sheets at the burkittsville/brunswick exit all the time

HondaTuner 01-15-2007 09:40 AM

Re: Any east coast guys?

I think that must be an east coast thing racintweek... that sounds like the exact same thing up here haha... cavalier owners seem to be the biggest BS'ers of them all though.
