Anti - Theft :)
ok this is for all my HMT'ers that have either asked me how i get in my car or complain about how they get jacked
This is a LOW BUDGET (around 120 Dollars) Anti-jacker Setup.
Well First you need to get you one of these Cheap-o 2-way Alarms From Ebay (80-100 bux)
Then When it Arrives you need to goto a junk yard (pick and steal i mean pull is great!) get yourself the door lock actuators from a Chevy Astro Van they have to be drilled out (theses are Equivlent to 10lb poppers)
Then You need to take out your door handles So the Theives Cant Pry out your Handle, After Taking it out, Bust out your Welder (i know i weld like ---- but it works and i ran out of argon) and Weld up that hole with a piece of sheet metal (not the thin ---- cheap ***!)
Then You need yourself some bondo! thats right kids put in them russian skills! fiberglass over the Sheet metal after sanding around the area to make it bond. After Drying bust is down with some rough grit paper, or a angle grinder with a sanding attachment. After that Put on a Layer of body filler (ultimate works better cuz its drys lighter) after that give it a quick buzz and it should look somewhat like this.
Now keep in mind you will have to do the final layers about 2-4 times, when you have it smooth run your hand across and make sure there is no pinholes or dips, if theres just pinholes go over it with some bondo gazing putty. after that hit it with some primer After That it will look like my avatar.
Then Grab a Smoke Step back and see it
after that you need to hook up the alarm, instead of having your door locks on the relay your door poppers will be on the relay, Mount the Actuator to the Pull rod of the door handle the inside handle will be taken out so theives cant just pull your window back, reach in and unlock your door. your door panel will cover the actuator depending on the spot, after mounting it should look like this, but not in the location its at this was a test fitment, you should mount in closer to the door popping actuator itself.
after that push the button and pop! If anyone breaks your window you will be paged by your 2 way alarm, chances are they see no handles they are gonna be lost and leave it be.
ill post the rest of my anti-theft ---- i have on my car later i gotta sleep some hope someone finds this useful.

Re:Anti - Theft :)
Good writeup man, slithgtly ghetto but effective. I've installed some heavy duty solnoids before that can run $50 each, but that astro van ---- looks to work well, what years on the astro van can you find those? Would that be from all trim models too?
You're pretty much fucked if your remote fails or one of the solnoid goes, that looks to be a mess, might need to look into the alternatives to get your ---- open.. like a hidden level on the inside or some ----.
Dude, don't you have any flux cored wire to run instead of the solid wire when you run out of argon/co2 mix? Guess it's good I have random cylinders of gas floating around the shop, but I still have a spare roll of flux core that came with the welder.

Re:Anti - Theft :)
don't do that unless you don't ever wanna bring your car to the track.. you can't race with shaved door handles... a few of my friends tried and they said they couldn't cuz of saftey issues if they need to get you out of your car, they couldn't.. just my 2 cents
