serously. i doubt 6 oil pumps will ---- up a herd of animals.. they'll find they're way around it. salmon in the northwest anyone?

back when i was getting ---- for hours at work, i downgraded to a local grocery chain's gas.. it was alright, plus i got 6 cents discount whenever my mom spent more than $50 in the store. it's usually about 15 cents cheaper (after deductions) than shell/chevron/76

although that was when it was like 2.60, and i thought that was high.. today was 2.91 for 92 octane at 76

also because of these gas prices, i've been going out less, since i live in a remote area compared to all my friends and the usual hangout spots

i have no idea how long it would take to effec the market.

president bush and most repub's wanted to begin drilling in alaska over 4 years ago. the dems have been blocking it ever since the idea was raised. the dems are blocking all oil production increases the last 20+ years.

all the hippies say oil company tycoons are getting rich from the drilling. but if there was more oil production who would acually benifit? THE CONSUMER, oil is the key to our economy, the dems know this and will do anything INCLUDING ------- us at the pump to hurt the reps and president bush.

i need gas, and unfortunatly i do not know to make it, so i have to buy it from someone. if they make money off me buying gas, thats the way life is. who is really getting rich? sand ------s who will turn on us in an instant, and use oil prices against us.

Sad part is we in Canada have ---- loads of oil all over the place. We lack the capital to drill it all, but if Bush got on the ball he would push investment in Canadian oil development and at the same time lessen the dependency on the highly unstable middle east.I'm paying ------- $1.28 a litre for 94 which equals over $4 a gallon US!The oil is taken out of the ground 3-4 hours north of me and processed at a refinery that is 5 min from my house.OPEC can suck my *****.

Ya there really needs to be a chnage in the next year a serious one becuase I know for the first time gas is effecting me takin trips that I usually would do now I stay at home. Im sure Im not the only one especially most of the 20 somethins who dont have 60,000+ incomes. 4.00 dollar a gallon is a year away Im sure of it but the only thing I can do along with the rest of us is take it and hope our governement can come together in an organized manner and get something together before its too late

Well, there is a bit more to the Alaska drilling idea that needs to be cleared up before it should pass. In effect, it probably wouldn't be a drastic help for our economy given the restrictions on area, the enviroment procautions, the added costs of effective and relatively "pollution-free" means of drilling/transportion/refining, etc... It'd just be a dab of insurance against OPEC hassles. Basically, it comes down to either 5 cents less for gas or preserving one of the few untouched areas of the world..

Now, if oil is the key to our economy, why act like sucking every last bit from the Earth is the solution? Shouldn't more money be put forth for alternative fuel instead of making private companies battle it out for the next big energy supply(beyond that farce of an energy bill that just passed)?

If drilling in Alaska is enough to make someone act like one side is dooming us, how about this? Reps are forcing our society to stick with something that will be gone, ensuring a monumental crisis, putting the hopes in the hands of private companies who might just end up trying to ---- us for every penny once that Dooms Day comes around since they'll want to patent the idea, afterall Reps are the majority that push laws that ensure persons/companies get their money for anything they create...

Oh how short sighted people can be....

My parents have a Marathon Credit Card and whenever you use that credit card to buy gas it's 5% discount off the price. So gas here is $2.75 for the good stuff. So 5% is what? 13.5 cents? Times about 9 gallons and you get 121.5 which is $1.21 That you save. Not alot, but still something. If you are looking for a lil discount and a credit card it might be a thought.

My main concern is when is this going to stop!? For the last five years prices have been going up.
So far I got out less and if I do, I plan out every where I need to go and try to make a big loop instead of back tracking.
